No picture for incoming call

I couldn't get this app to sync.


Anyone else have this issue?

This app will sync your Facebook friends pictures with their Gmail contact, they will then display properly in phone, contacts, messaging, etc.

If I recall correctly from the HTC Hero phone, I could have a picture display for an incoming call. I have the Epic synchronized with Facebook, so I have pictures for some of my contacts. These pictures came from Facebook. If someone who is one of my Facebook friends calls me and I have their picture in the contacts, I don't see that picture when they call. All I see is just a picture place holder. Do I need to have an actual picture that I took with the camera in order for there to be a picture when that contact calls me?

No I used pictures from Facebook myself but I believe in your Contacts when you edit each Contact it will have a line where you select to add a picture to the contact. I do remember I took the pictures I liked from Facebook and saved them to my SD card on my phone then selected each picture per contact to make it work. Maybe there is another way, not sure..

I have mine synced with facebook and their profile pictures show up with incoming/outgoing calls as well as in the stock messaging app. Didn't have to do anything special

Are your contacts linked with the FB contact?

Check which FB app you are using. There is the default one that came with the phone, and another downloadable one for Android. I have both as each one has different functions. Also the default FB app wasn't listing some of my contacts. I think the downloadable one won't work for the pictures.

I had to play around with the settings for a while as I wasn't getting the pictures before either with text or calls. But they are working now.

Here's what I remember doing.
Select one of your contacts, select menu, mark as default, then select the FB radial button (they are listed in the same order as the linked contacts list). Select save.

See if their picture changes in the text messaging app.

I didn't want FB as the default so I changed it back to phone. But the contacts picture remains.

It's a PITA if you have a lot of contacts. Let us know if this works for you.

syncmypix app pulls their pictures from fb and saves it to your gmail contacts account so the picture shows up as default

I have had my epic for a month. Since day 1 i had my FB contacts synced with the Epic contacts and there were never any issues. Pics would show up on incoming calls and txts. Until today. All of sudden, it just stopped working. Factory reset my phone. No go. No apps interfereing cause i tested this immediately after the reset. Pretty annoyed. This app syncmypix worked. BUT shouldnt need a 3rd party app for this functionality, especially when i know it works without.

mines did it but it connected ALL my Facebook contacts and I don't want all 400 plus friends in my phone

There is a FB sync option to just "sync with existing contacts"
