Uk user here.

Hi guys. My 3 month old moto g7 power is in for repair after it turned off and refused to start. Anyhow have bought a 7.1 and I'm kinda liking the screen and simple design. Its all set up and had a Feb 2019 security update land on start up. Down side is no pie update. I bought sim free from carphone warehouse here in the UK. I'm on the BT network which I believe is the same as the EE. Network. So far all I've found is,

A) side load pie

B) use a voda phone sim card and await a pie update over a weekend of so.

Any info or suggestions appreciated.

I'm also in the UK and purchase my 7.1 from CPW SIM free.

It was purchase last November and Pie dropped in December. I'm with Vodafone.

How long have you been waiting for the update? Perhaps give it a bit longer but that said, there isn't a lot to shout about with Pie over Oreo.

Since I received the phone the security updates have been pretty much on time.

Keep us informed 're your progress. It's a really good phone for the price.

Thanks for the info guys. Just been on the voda phone site and ordered one of the free sims that you pay for once activated. See how that goes. Let you all know what happens as it should be here in a few days.

Hope that works out for you but don't expect it to upgrade instantly. Give it time.

Alan.

Used a Voda phone sim for a week and no pie update. Also tried a sim from 3 for a couple of days and still nothing. in the mean time my moto is back, popped my bt sim in and got updates straight away. Long story short the Nokia is now a standby phone and the moto is main. I know this is wierd but I couldn't get along with the Nokia. A great phone but wasn't for me, can't put my finger on it. it just didn't gel with me.

You don't have to have a sim installed to get the update.
I would first do a soft reset and see what happens.
