Question No RCS Read Receipts when Texting with Iphone Users

I'm using a Pixel 7 Pro running Android 15. When I text with a person using iOS 18 on an iPhone I get the "Sent" circle and check mark and the "Delivered" circle and check mark, but the circles don't turn blue to indicate "Read" once the recipient has read the message (like they do on Android-to-Android RCS). Is this a setting I need to change on my end or is it an iOS problem. This happens with multiple iPhone users.

Check with the iPhone users where this is a concern to see if they have read receipts and/or RCS switched off. iPhone read receipts can be turned on or off just like Android read receipts and RCS is required on both ends for the read receipts to work.


It should also be noted that some carriers do not support RCS.

That's a good point. Maybe "Read" receipts isn't turned on by default on their iPhones for RCS. I will have them check on their end. I know for sure that their carrier supports RCS because I'm getting the "Sent" and "Delivered" circles/checks where before I just got SMS.
