No Screen Timeout for galaxy s4

My phone does not go on screen timeout no matter how many times I change the settings. I have to do it manually but if I get a message it stays on. Could it be my phone conver? Or do I have to change something else on my settings.

It could be the phone cover (easy to test, just take the cover off) or it could be a defective phone. It's under warranty. If it doesn't time out with timeout set to 30 seconds and not being charged, bring it in for repair or replacement. (There's a setting to not time out during charge, so test it when it's not charging.)
