Has this been confirmed by any source?

Apparently all Tri-band phones will no longer support SVLTE. If that's true then that's the last nail in the coffin for my "Which should I get, the Moto X or the Nexus 5?" decision.

**This is a CDMA question, AKA Sprint**

That must be a CDMA thing (which iPhone does this since iPhone 5). On AT&T, when you are on a call, signal automatically fall back to HSPA+. For CDMA, to do both voice and data at the same time, it requires two radios which consumes a lot of power.

I just tested it and I was able to load a page in chrome, while on a call, while on wifi and while on mobile data.

I think this is both a Sprint/Verizon (CDMA) limitation.

When Verizon first got the iPhone, that was one of AT&T marketing stratigies, to pound home the idea that you couldn't talk and surf at the same time. This has not been an issue with GSM carriers (T-Mo/AT&T). I could talk and surf on a GPE GNex and I can also do it on my N5 with T-mo.

Remember this....

This is specifically a Sprint limitation at this point. Any triband LTE device sprint puts out will not do voice and data at the same time unless it's on wifi. Earlier Sprint LTE single band device can do voice and data at the same time (ex: S4, S3, HTC One).

The sprint triband phones don't support svdo or svlte.
