No sound from loud speakers

[Android Central Question]

Hi, can I ask if there's a problem with the audio ic chip Xperia 10 would it also affect the use of the headphones, the reason I ask is I have no sound at all from the speakers but the but when headphones are plugged in everything sounds fine, ear speaker, loud speaker charge port/vibration flex have all been correctly replaced but still no sound, cheers

Welcome to Android Central! It's more likely that the speaker is faulty. Another possibility is a faulty headphone jack that always thinks headphones are plugged in (which would mean sound never comes out the main speaker). The main hint for this would be a headphone icon in the status bar, even without headphones plugged in.
