No Sound

My sound just went away the notification vibrates then no sound and my friend tried calling me and no sound and the volume is at full i tried going to vibrate then going back to full volume nothing can anyone help

is that the only way no way without turning it off or taking out the battery

As far as I know yes. I had that problem. While the phone is on, pull out the battery, wait a minute, put the battery back in and boot it back up.
