No update showing for January security patch on Nexus 6P

Mine updated yesterday, but then it asked me to updated again (with the same size file)... and now it's trying to update for a third time.

There are a couple of extra links at the top of the article in case you don't know how to boot up in fastboot or recovery mode.

Follow these instructions and wiping the cache partition is easy peasy.

any suggestions on how to do that?

1) Power off your phone

2) press the volume down and power button and hold them till you boot into a recovery kind of menu

3) Press the volume keys until you see recovery mode

4) press the power button once to boot into recovery mode

5) When you see an injured Android d00d on lying on the floor, press the power button and hold it briefly, then press the volume up key ONCE

6) you are now in the recovery mode

7) using the volume up/down, navigate down to wipe cache partition

8) enter it by pressing the power button then wipe your cache partition, this should only take a few seconds

9) once you see a message that it's done, use the volume up/down keys to select the reboot option, then hit the power button
