No VoLTE / 5G / WiFi Calling on AT&T with Unlocked Model...

D/L Good lock app, install quickstar mod, and in visibility indicators, you can remove icons from showing in your status bar.

Couldn't find a mod called quickstar in good lock so downloaded Fine Lock and it essentially does the same thing. Installed the quickstar mod and it's golden. Worked perfect. Now, device is probably open to hackers lol but whatever. No att logo!

Thanks for your assist!

I'm using S20 Ultra unlocked on AT&T since Wednesday. First thing I did was call and make sure IMEI was updated in their system and was good to go.

As stated VoLTE is working, wifi calling is not yet enabled.
To confirm yourself, all you have do is copy/paste this into phone: *#*#4636#*#*

Also, 5Ge = LTE+
You cannot get true 5G or 5G mmwave (1000 mb/s+) speeds unless 1) You have one of the two unlimited data plans offered by ATT that supports it. The lowest unlimited data tier does not support it. And 2) live in a area where 5G is supported, which right is mainly the larger cities in the North East... you can Google the coverage yourself.

As already stated, you can flash back and forth between carrier and unlocked firmware if wifi calling is really that important to you.

Hope this clears everything up.

I know you found another way. But just FYI, Good Lock is from the Samsung App store. Offers lots of cool tools. From the Good Lock app also check out the family tab at the bottom where there are more apps to play around with in there.

I have not had an Android device for quite a while and decided I would give a Galaxy S20 Ultra a try as I have become tired of iOS 13 bugs on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. I picked up an unlocked S20 Ultra from Best Buy earlier today. I contacted AT&T and had them change the IMEI for my line then I waited half an hour before I powered on the phone for the first time. I then installed the March security patch. VoLTE is working as expected, I can't find WiFi Calling anywhere in the settings. Low band 5G also appears to work as I have seen the 5G indicator and Speed Test by Ookla reports the tests are being completed over 5G.

I have been seeing terrible LTE and 5G speeds. My 11 Pro Max usually would pull at least 30 - 40 Mbps in most places and have 20+ Mbps upload for the most part. Thus far I have not been impressed with cellular data speeds. I've found both download and uploads speeds to be wildly inconsistent as shown below. Interestingly when I ran the top test I saw the 5G indicator, however it is not reported as a 5G test. Not sure what I can do to improve this.

The other frustrating thing for me is it appears there is no way to turn 5G off. All there is a toggle to enable or disable 2G, which was disabled out of the box.

Do you have to do this? All I did was swap my sim to the new phone.

You don't have to... When I called ATT after I swapped my sim to my new unlocked phone, the night before, the rep said he could see my new IMEI # in the system already, but it would help to finalize "some other stuff" and that I was like "mostly there"... Whatever the hell those vague terms mean. Anyway he updated whatever in their system, and was told to restart the phone. The one thing I did notice upon restart is I was given the option to download Samsung's visual voicemail app. Don't know if it was available before that or not, as I hadn't looked yet because I was still in the process of setting everything up the way I like it.

Long story short, it can't hurt to call and make sure everything is up to date with your new IMEI #.... Maybe someone can ask them what additional things they might be doing. I probably should have, I was just trying to get off the phone with the guy.

Well crap, I ordered the ATT version because I needed the VOLTE and would rather have an unlocked device. Well, too much of a hassle sending it back and reordering. But I still haven't sent in my Note 10+ yet.

Wanna trade? Grey unlocked here. I'll take an ATT version....

Hi all, question for you all that have AT&T...My family has iphone 11 pros...all on the basic Unlimited Plan (traitors)..so no 5G
If I add my Galaxy S20 to the account can I get 5G access for only my line instead of moving all of us up to the next Unlimited plan which is like $60 more/month...so can I pay for just 1 line to have 5g
... I tried chatting with AT&T and they were useless.

No, you HAVE to be on the Unlimited Extra or Unlimited Elite plan to get 5G.

That is what I thought. Thank You.
Funny how Tmo does not charge anything extra to get 5g...just put my prepaid sim in and started getting low band 5g almost immediately...

Been getting strange timeouts over ATT data on the S20Ultra like maybe when scrolling though Youtube comments the circle will just spin and not load the comments - switching to wi-fi instantly starts loading. Wonder if this is just a fault of the new phone or just general network problems in my area. Never had this happen with my S10.

You can flash the U1 unlocked firmware on any of the carrier models. It was the first thing I did with my Verizon version when I got it. There's a lot of threads out there with instructions if needed.
