No VoLTE / 5G / WiFi Calling on AT&T with Unlocked Model...

There were no options for network selection with the AT&T SIM in it, however I put in a T-Mobile SIM in and all of the above work.

Hmm. Are you in a market where ATT offers 5G service?

Okay - the original post said no 5G which was a suprise. I expected no wifi calling and/or VoLTE although I was hopeful.

Just got my Ultra an hour ago. Got it set up and tried to make a call while using data, and I can confirm that VoLTE is WORKING on AT&T with the unlocked model. Have not tried wifi calling as I do not use that, but it's good to know that VoLTE is working.

After you posted this, I went and updated my IMEI on the Premier website and by gosh, it appears VoLTE is working on the unlocked. WiFi-Calling is not, even though it provisioned on the line when I switched the IMEI. Looks like I might cancel the AT&T version order I placed an hour ago at Samsung. I don't use WiFi Calling hardly ever.

How do you confirm VoLTE

If you are on a call look at the network icon at the top of the phone. Typically if VoLTE is not working it will drop down to "4g", which it has on past unlocked Samsung devices I had on AT&T. It did not do this when I was on a call a few minutes ago on my S20 Ultra

good deal. Yea I was getting a little frustrated reading that it wouldn't support VoLTE. Glad that is not the case. I wasn't going to open the device and just set it up for return and order the AT&T version. Then I found a post on reddit that said it would support VoLTE so decided to give it a go. Glad I did, hate going through the return process and even more, hate carrier branded devices.

There is on option to change IMEI when you put in the phone number on the account you want to change.

I never heard that AT&T would finally let the US Unlocked versions work on WiFi Calling and VoLTE?? Been a thorn in our side for years...

It seems maybe they have finally allowed at least the VoLTE??

Even though it was stated that this time would be different, VoLTE, 5G nor WiFi Calling work on the Unlocked Model with an AT&T SIM. I will be selling the Unlocked version or trading for an AT&T model.

There was an article a couple of weeks ago saying that Samsung unlocked S20's would support VoLTE and Wifi calling similar to unlocked Pixels and iPhones, so people were excited about it. Appears that article was partially right and partially wrong.
