noob nook color app installation question

I just got a nook color ordered and I'm in the process of getting a micro sd card for it. I will be installing cm7 to the sd card so I don't have to mess with the emmc.

My question is, where does the system install the apps to? According to the guide I am following:
"more than 2G cards gets: 460M system, 975M data, rest is FAT for sdcard."

So are apps stored in the data, or the FAT partition. Trying to decide if getting the 16GB is worth it.

I'm using and 8GB card and so far have lots of room. If you plan on downloading all kinds of apps and putting music and video on the card as well then spring for the 16GB one.

As for where it stores that i don't remember off the top of my head.

I do plan on putting lots of apps and a few movies I'll be rotating out as I watch them. I just hate how on my optimus s, I have to delete a few apps to try out a new one.

Anyone else have a solid answer as to where the apps get installed?

The apps are installed on "data" part of the card, which is seen as phone's internal memory on your Nook. Most of them have the option to be moved to "SD card" like on your phone, that means on the FAT part.

975 mb for apps sounds great compared to the optimus' 170 mb internal storage.
