Nook Color with Froyo/Netflix

I hope this question hasn't been asked. I bought a Nook Color a couple days ago for books, of course, but also for the tablet functionality. First thing I did was install Honeycomb, which kind of crapped out. Maybe I did something wrong, but either way I kind of like the interface and such that's on there stock, just with the addition of the market and Google apps.

That being said, I used Autonooter 3.0 to root and install those apps on my Nook and I love it, but I really want to get Netflix on there. It looks like I'm running Android 2.1 and I can't seem to install it as I'm getting a parsing error.

Anyway, my point is, I assume the new B&N update 1.2 is Android 2.2, so I could I just update to stock 1.2 then autonoot again and have Android 2.2 and install Netflix and such that way (with build.prop edit)? I'm not new to hacking by any means, but it seems there are a lot of variations between how things can be done and what is compatible with what. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

and I guess by autonooter I mean manualnooter. After more research it looks like I can do this with manualnooter.

Yes, it will work for you.
Just make sure you use the correct rooting method - as you said above it should be Manualnooter and not Autonooter, which was for the older B&N firmware 1.0 and 1.1 (Eclair). I do not know the process for using the Manualnooter, but it is detailed on the xda threads:

ManualNooter 4.5.25 (For Stock 1.2) - xda-developers

I have seen several reports of people with rooted stock 1.2 being able to use Netflix without problems. The newer updated Netflix (available in the Market) also no longer requires the build.prop edit, unless you are running CM7. I am running the latest stable CM7 release, and have Netflix working very well.
Unless there is some functionality that you want to keep from the stock B&N firmware, I would suggest upgrading to CM7. It runs very well and makes these things so much easier once you get the hang of flashing things through Clockworkmod Recovery. There is a great guide that is easy to follow with all pertinent links here:

[GUIDE] Install CM7, OC kernel and Clockworkmod to EMMC - ALL NOOKS! (Updated:6/4/11) - xda-developers

Unless you are prepared to deal with the inevitable issues with nightly releases, I would suggest sticking the the latest stable build of CM7, which is version 7.0.3. They will be releasing version 7.1.0 stable fairly soon, which will come with some significant upgrades, as you can read in the above thread if you wish.

Good luck.
