Not able to save backup to SD card after upgrade

I am leaning towards the fact that if a developer won't put the effort to fix their app to work properly with Kitkat, then it is time to move on. I have copied a file from the internal card to the root of my SD. To me that means that the app doesn't need a folder on the SD to write to it, that just sounds like a way out of putting in the necessary effort ti fix the app. I could be wrong but that's the way I am leaning.

Oh ok, I read somewhere that if the app created the folder that it writes to it should still work, but according to the Dev's at My Backup Pro, they say it won't work. They also said you should be able to do the back up and then move it to the SD card using the built in file manager on the phone, but I don't know. I am still on the 4.3 right now. To me it kinda makes the SD card useless, and I dough that it will be fixed.

SD card is not useless, it works fine with Helium or app backup. Mybackup might be useless for you though

Since power amp had a free trial I tried it and it worked...I will purchase if mixzing doesn't get back to me with some info on an update or fix...I have no loyalty to any app or brand, I just Don't like paying for multiple apps to do the same thing....no biggie if it finds the music tho...thanks again.

I've been using Poweramp ever since I got my first Android phone in 2010. Wholeheartedly recommend. I've done comparisons with Google play, the built-in Samsung Music app, Spins HD, etc. Always come back to Poweramp

I'm having issues with camera zoom FX saving to the SD card as well I have the latest version.

Are you rooted?? if so then it will work. I don't want or plan on rooting my phone.

Do you use camerazoom fx for a particular reason over internal camera? I had same problem with music...I couldn't store automatically to external sd...I had to move te file with es file explorer to external sd folder. I don't know however if the oictures will show up in gallery after you do that as I haven't tried...My moved music will not play on stck music player, it will not recognize it...so I don't know if it will do the same for built in gallery or not. Good luck with this . All you can do is try and see if it works...you could store to your phone and copy to external sd if you are using it as a backup...or use cloud storage for stock gallery...just a few options. Let us know what works. others who have had KK for a while may have found a work around.

FYI - Camera FV-5 saves to the SD Card with no problem. I have mine set to the same directory as the stock camera and it shows up in Gallery without having to move it anywhere.

How do you use Helium? I D/Led it but couldn't get it to save to the SD card. It said to use a PC. When I create a back up, I am usually away from PC or WiFi.

MyBackup Pro Dev is being a jerk and lying about Kitkat. Doggcatcher writes podcasts to the SD card, and it took them only about a week to fix the program. They only need to set a directory that is theirs, and all will work perfectly. I have a LOT of stuff on my phone, and the backups are huge {~20GB}. MyBackup can backup to Device memory {if it fits} then I need another ~20-30 minutes to move to the SD card. As it is, I waste hours trying to back up - which fails for lack of space, clearing space, backing up again, moving to SD card. If Dev wasn't lazy this would not be necessary.

For Helium, you need to save to internal, then copy to sd. Copy it back onto the phone after doing the reset or whatever

That was the same answer I got from MyBackup Pro Dev. The issue with me is, I want to write directly to the SD card like I did before the update, but obviously that's not going to happen unless I root and use the rooted version of MyBackup Pro.

Yeah, I don't know of a way around it at this time.
