It's all too easy to put our own spins and theories on this situation at the moment _ me included.

For now I've read and digested the article , noted it and will await for any updates from official sources.

Vape is legit though. Those things are known to go up in smoke and even burn people pretty good who put them in their pockets.

I don't think it's fair to accuse this lady of that but I could totally see something like that happening.

Yes I've seen the videos too of vape batteries going up.

Some from people using the wrong charger too on vapes or using a cheap built brand vape.

So I'm not saying things haven't happened here only that it's easy to add our own theories but for myself I'll be awaiting for an official statement from Samsung.

If they did that every time there is an isolated case of a bad battery from who knows what or how the phone was treated would be a PR nightmare. I don't see Apple making a statement whenever you hear about an iPod or iPhone melting down.

In all the time I've known if Apple in my lifetime it's been very rare of Apple to make any statement when it concerns an issue with a product.

"You're holding it wrong" is the best one that comes to mind.

Companies wont want to add fuel to the fire {forgive my choice of words} and will await for independent assessment etc and then react if necessary-- in my personal opinion.

And Samsung blamed the buyers for buying the phone from 3rd party reseller online.
I find that odd. Of course, there's no official Samsung warranty if you get it from an unauthorized reseller, but that response struck out to me as odd.

Politics were asked to be kept out of the convo as we have a dedicated area for that.

Shocker. . it wasn't. So closing down the thread for awhile so people can actually read this.

Discussion is fine. Want to discuss politics? Do it in the political area of the forums. We keep it all there for a reason.

My phone gets warm, maybe a little too much to feel comfortable to hold sometimes.. it's never hot that I think it's gonna catch on fire.
I don't think this is the case here, my phone gets ( every now and then) just as warm as my s7 edge did, and it never caught on fire
I only asked because it's a new phone that in my opinion shouldn't do that by just being in some simple apps, and the internet. Like I said above, sometimes it runs cool sometimes it doesn't not sure why. I haven't contacted Samsung just because it doesn't happen all the time, and I'm sure Samsung is not gonna replace it. Best buy would of just because I was within my return period.

The only way it should get warm if you play games or just setting up the phone and installing apps .
I'm curious what note you bought the 8gb or 6gb ?

It's most likely an app at fault in your case, something that uses GPS, or other type activity in the background. Facebook was a big culprit of things like this back in my BlackBerry days. NOT that I'm saying facebook is at issue here. But my suspicion is that it's an app in the background at fault for you. :) Hopefully you can get it resolved soon. :)

THIS.

Also, my S7 use to like to get warm a lot as well.

Could be facebook. That app loves to drain battery as well.

Flossy Carter on his broadcast last night only briefly mentioned it. He's not concerned at all and said it's just fake news.
