I know lots of people have issues with their glass scratching or cracking or shattering. That sucks and all, but I just wanted to remind people that every drop us it's own event. I was setting mine up to take slow motion video of lighting late the other night off Dauphin Island, AL. My sapphire blue U11 slipped, quite easily out of my hands and fell over the side of the railing on the porch. About 15 feet down to a patch of grass and large gravel. It hit the corner, bounced up, landed on the front glass, bounced and spun again, finally resting on it's the back. I was using the HTC included clear case. The phone still looks pristine.

Here's the corner of the case:

And here's where I dropped it from. The top of the rail on the deck. Down to the edge of the driveway below.

I would say that the phone gods were being very nice to you... Glad it survived the fall

So glad your phone was okay! Thank you for sharing! And yes, every drop is different! It's also important to note how the phone lands when it's dropped. You bring up some good points!

How long until your heart rate returned to normal? :)

About 3 minutes. I thought it was thrashed. The screen was on and I saw this red outline around all 4 edges. I assumed it was the LCD bleeding to death but apparently the recent apps button had been pressed (either by me on the way down or the damp grass, who knows) and I was just seeing the outer edge of my wallpaper. It's the HTC one with the red and white swirl. When I grabbed it and realized that, I was shocked. I took the case off and inspected every millimeter if it.

The whole time I was running down the stairs I was thinking how there aren't any repair options yet and I was going to have to justify buying another one immediately and explaining that to my wife.
