I've read all around and tried many suggestions, clearing data, cache, re-booting, re-installing. I have no idea what is going on but I get notifications for other app's such as Twitter and my Sports or weather, etc...

I do not have messenger installed.
In the FB app, I have un-checked Refresh Interval. All other notifications are checked.
Auto Sync is ON (but here is the weird thing: I go into auto sync and in FB, I have 2 accts, one being my gmail address for FB, the other being my Phone #? All have contacts, calendar and Live checked.

I'm at my wits end. One of the reasons I left Windows Phone was because of no FB notifications. Is there a work around?

if you want push notifications on messages, you'll have to get the facebook messenger app and enable notifications in that app.

you will not get facebook push notifications on anything else. i suspect the *notification* options in facebook only work in-app.

i do not know if this is intended or not but that has been my experience with every facebook version of late in both android and iOS.

I don't care for Facebook Messenger. I'm referring to when I post a status a status update. I should get notifications in my FB app but I have to open FB to see them.

yes you have to open facebook to see them. those notifications will show under the globe icon at the top.

you will not get push notifications to your phone, however.

i suspect it would just consume too much battery to constantly scan your wall or posts around facebook and push them to you live.

I'm assuming you log out of Facebook and then wait for the notifications to come through (that doesn't happen) you've got two options rather get Facebook messenger and don't log out or set your email account which is associated with Facebook to auto sync , I would say don't log out of Facebook but it drains too much battery that's why I suggested Facebook messenger hope this helps...

i think - if i understood correctly - he wats *push* notifications for message (and status updates) replies in his wall and what not. he doesn't want facebook messenger.

afaik, that doesn't exist presumably to conserve battery.

Lol I know he doesn't want the messenger I read his post but to get notifications that's an option...

Troneas - That is correct. Facebook Messenger has nothing to do with status updates.

I also have no globe icon at the top. That would be a great solution if I saw a icon..
My Gmail acct is my primary email and also my FB user name.

I get all other notifications, just not FB and tried troubleshooting with Verizon. Their solution - go to the store.

I don't get notifications from pages I manage and those that I have liked. However, whenever someone posts something to my wall, comments on my statuses, messages me, or sends me a friend request the phone notifies me.

Try this if you haven't already:
1. Open the Facebook app
2. Pull out the menu
3. Scroll down to App Settings and click on it
4. Enable (check) everything in the notification settings

I don't ever log out of Facebook on my phone as my job requires me to be always available (one of the benefits of working in broadcast).

These settings work for me. Hopefully this helps you out. Alternatively, there are other Facebook apps out there. You might give them a try.

Yeah, I don't know what some of you are talking about. I get notifications on anything I've commented on when someone else comments. I get notified if someone posts on my wall and I get notified if someone messages me.

That's true. I don't use the battery draining Messenger either and I still get push notifications for messages, posts on my wall etc.
You don't need to open the app.

For the OP, first of all check your FB settings and see what is turned on and off. Uninstall, re-install the app, also check your FB account from your computer and delete any devices you don't use.

Can you still turn on persistent notifications that live in your notification shade?

I ended up deleting Facebook Home and now I get notifications, strange. Unless it was my reset? Because all of my other setting were correct.
