not impressed with DL30

the only problem I had was that I could not restore back to any Nandroid backups I made with DL05/09. When I tried to restore to them the phone would reboot and stay stuck at the Samsung screen.

I have successfully backed up and restored DL30 several times. I have since learned that my older Nandroid backups won't restore because of the different DL30 kernel. I don't really need them anymore now anyway.

Ahhh! This makes sense! I was having the same issue the other day. I thought I bricked my phone. Thanks for pointing this out! :D

Yeah, guys if you need to roll back to a 2.1 Nandroid - you MUST know which kernel you were running, and flash that back after you restore the backup in CWM.

I've gone back and forth multiple times now, it's pretty easy, you just have to put your backup and kernel together so you know what goes with what. I rename my Nandroids to correspond with the date and kernel they were made with to avoid confusion. It takes about 10 minutes to revert if you need to.

used quadrant and smart bench. quadrant was around or just under 1k.

linpack in the 13s

I'm not upset at the people that leaked froyo. I also wasn't expecting the world, i've had Froyo on other phones, so i'm not exactly new to it, but i was expecting that if this is really close to being released that it would be a bit better than it is today.

My quadrants ****ing 700

That's a great tip, thanks!

At this point I think I'm ready to through all of my 2.1 backups away.

(...well, maybe archive them to a folder on my PC...)

I am very happy with what my Fascinate can do, so much better than my previous BB. I watch all my cable channels using Slingbox and the picture and sound with headphones are superb. However during the regular football season I could not watch the blackout games because the web site that streams the games uses Flash; my son has an HTC Incredible and he could watch no problem.

My quadrant scores on a stock phone are as follows:

CPU: ........777
MEMORY: 1879
I/O:..........609
2D GRAPH:.312
3D GRAPH:.922

TOTAL SCORE: 900

It seems the I/O test alone runs about a minute, very slow. But I still feel I have a great phone, I would be happy with a patch simply to run Flash 10.1.
