not receiving Gmail

I am not getting my gmail on my Eris.
Everything else works fine. I am even getting mail
from my other email accounts like yahoo and mac mail,
but not gmail.

However, if i open the gmail app and click "refresh"
all my gmail pops up. So, in order for me to read my gmails
i have to enter the application and click "refresh."
All notfications are set to on, etc.

Anyone know why this is happening?

If you go to the settings > accounts & sync > click on your gmail account > is Sync Gmail checked?

Tere, I was having this issue too. My gmail account was synced but I wasnt getting notifications. Try checking your wifi settings. Mine was off and when i checked the box to turn it on, i started getting notfications. It's still sporadic sometimes, but that helped alot.

p.s. i am NO expert. This was just a freak discovery. good luck

Forgot to mention, if you do go into settings >sync and un check /re check the sync box, it will reset and when I do that i immidiately get email notifications.

One question: shouldn't i see a little number on the gmail icon,
indicating how many emails I have received? or some other kind of indicator which tells me I got a GMAIL, and not an email from my other email accounts?
I get an indicator (a number on top of the mailbox icon) for my other email accounts.
Is there something like that for Gmail?

I just had to put a check on the gmail sync setting.
That did the trick, but I will keep in mind the wi-fi info,
just in case it happens again. Thanks!!
