Not receiving text messages

I'm not sure what's the issue but I'm not getting any texts to my phone. Any ideas? I've been moving through different texting apps lately if it matters.

Is this all texts or people with iPhones?

if its imessages from iphones then you need to go on your old iphone and turn off imessages in settings

yea it was from everyone. turns out that all i had to do was send a text and that somehow jumpstarted things.
