Note 10+ or S20+?

Just seen on Swappa someone is selling a Note 10+ for $590, but with no s-pen. I still have my s-pen from my Note 9. That is a really good deal. And they are about 45 minutes north of me. Has anyone had luck with Swappa?

Pretty sure the note 9 s pen won't fit/click into the silo on the note 10+

One of my biggest complaints would be with the 10+ would be the size of it of course. If I do decide to get a 10 plus I can only imagine how big it would be trying to fit that in my pockets later in the year when I started wearing shorts. And I thought the S10 was a good size I can only imagine how big the Note 10 would be with the case on then try to put those in my side pockets.

I love my Note 10+. Since the 5g won't be available everywhere for a while, I'm keeping my Note 10+.

I'm confused on which one to pick up. Currently using a Pixel 3 axl and I originally skipped the Note 10+ in favor of the S 10+. The Note 9 was my last Note I used. Now I'm thinking about getting another Note. There are pros and cons of each one. The Note is $100 cheaper then the S20 and has 256 GB vs 128 on the S20 as a base model. The Note has 12gb memory and I think the S20+ has 8. A spen is important even though I really don't use it all that much. But I read the camera is kind of so so on the Note and then the camera should be killer on the S20+. Both should be easy to hold in the hands. I'll wait and see the S20 in person and see what promotions T-Mobile has to offer.

The Note 10 plus has 12 gigs of RAM. But the S10 plus is RAM is ddr5. So it'll be dramatically faster and the camera is going to be much better. I have the Note 10+ as my personal phone and it's a great phone. But I've been using the s 20+ for a couple weeks and it's pretty phenomenal.

It really comes down to does the spen sing to you. If you use the pen all the time then get the note. Otherwise the s20 + is the better device

No reason to get rid of your note. It's an amazing phone. If you had an s9 or even maybe a note 9 then I would say upgrade. Otherwise, enjoy the S-Pen and all the amazing features that note has

The S20 series is running ddr5 ram. It's not super noticeable until you do something like graphics editing

I actually like this comparison, I have a pixel 3xl and plan on waiting until the pixel 5xl comes out to see if it's worth it or the next note. However if the note looks like the s20 I may be hesitant to pick it up. I'll end up going with the note 10+ as it's a great device it's has a great camera and specs. That's just my plan for when I upgrade from my pixel 3xl

Fun fact: I waited till Samsung announced the Note10 and Note10 plus before picking up a brand new Note9 ($699) from T-Mobile. I've always been a Note user since 2011, but nothing will make me give Samsung, or any OEM, $1000+ for a phone.

Shocked to hear ab fellow Pixel 3xl user who wants to buy another. I can't wait to get rid of mine.

The note 9 display was the worse of them all IMO. I'd pay the extra for the note 10+.

I didn't realize they had a bad display.
Didn't say it was bad, just wasn't great, and I said IMO. The note 9 didn't do much for me, the note 8 was just as good in the areas that mattered. I like Samsung phones, but I'm not going to be a fan boy and say every one is just beyond this world great.

Understood.....thanks for clarifying.

Upgrade is only 300 bucks plus you get 100 toward accessories. I think it's not bad. Will wait for reviews

For some reason these smartphone manufactures only care about paying attention to making the camera better. The camera on the Note 10+ is just fine. I seriously could care less about getting a better camera on my phone. Since a couple years ago the cameras on these phones have been just fine for most of us. Obviously if you are really into picture taking or an artist, you'd have a real camera and not use your phone. There really isn't much more Samsung can do as in technology wise since they've pretty much peaked. Stick more memory in it, upgrade the processor. That's about it. I would never give up my Note 10+ for an S20 anything. There is just no reason. If you have to just have the latest and greatest and money is no concern then go for it. The basic R&D on these phones have been paid for over and over. Samsung is just increasing the specs, that's all and then charging an extremely load of money for a phone that cost about $200 to make. Not even sure why I have the Note+ I don't even use the pen. I did read that the S20 Ultra has a real nice screen.

The camera is an area that phones can still make big strides in. Also it's great for marketing. As you said performance gains are pretty much iterative these days. The giant leaps aren't happening at the moment. Pushing the cameras in ads makes for a great selling point over the minimal advancements with processors.

When it comes to R&D though, there's no end to it. Every component in the phone has to be tested individually and as a whole once the design is final. All that testing takes both time and money. OEM's are spending tons on making phones better.

I do agree that the prices have gotten out of control, and that's why I'm not upgrading every year from now on. I'm gonna stick with my Note 10+ until enhancements are made that will actually benefit me instead of just to have the newest.

Picking a note vs s series is the easiest thing ever. You use and value the spen, you stay with Note no matter what the S series offer, you don't care about the spen, then you choose S series no matter what the Note offers. It's so simple, a cave man can do it LOL
