Note 10, your predictions/hopes

Longer battery life
No notch
Keep the headphone jack
Go back to, or release a 16:9 option (I'm sick of this 18.5:9 garbage)
Larger screen

Well (don't laugh - ok laugh if you want, idc:)) I'm finally going to bite the bullet and upgrade to a GN10 from my trusty GN4 which was the 1st phone I really took to, still love, and really it does much of what I want/need and I live on it (too much) & use the S-pen extensively. I'd have upgraded along the way, but have been stubborn about the permanent battery "feature." At least the card slot came back after the GN5.

That being said, I'm psyched for a GN10 and I know this won't happen, but I'd like to see a replaceable battery (Seemingly the GN7 debacle should've been a lesson?). It would also further differentiate the GN line. Otherwise, a Graphene battery as long as it's proven.

My stuff is simple being that I'm in the dark ages - I'm sure I'll be blown away no matter what and much of my wish list may already be there. Looking forward to the enhanced S-Pen features and hoping the problems with the GN9 pen and camera are resolved (camera always seems to be an issue - Why?) and the bigger screen will be awesome (I'd rather a computer that doubles as a phone - I don't talk on it AT ALL w/o a Bluetooth). Keep the jack (please). If not already an option, ability to make custom S-Note templates. Easier/faster way to toggle screen rotation. Higher Volume/better speakers.

From Note 4 I would go look for a good deal on a Note 8 straight away and then still get the Note 10 later :-)

What they did was after the Note 7 was more stringent battery QC, and smaller batteries. The S7E was very close in size to the S8 and S9 but had a battery that waa 600mah larger. In fact the 'small' S9 is larger with a footprint of 5.2 in3 while the S7E had 5.1 in3, but the S7E had a 3600mah battery instead of 3000mah.

Plus they have overaggressive battery protection. The 3000mah battery on the S9 tells you it's 100% at 2600mah charged, not 3000mah. This does help in longevity though, since 2600mah is at 4.3V, which is lower than the 4.7 volts max for battreries. There are studies done on lithium ion batteries that keeping them at 4.3V and below extend their lifespan and delay degradation.

What My Wish List for it would be;
1. QC 4.0 where 5%to 100% can be done in 30 minutes either through the USB Type C Port or through Wireless Charging.
2. Camera's Under the Display without Any Holes blocking Any part of the Screen.
3. Bluetooth Low Energy 6.0 that can Stream up to 4 Wireless Speakers and or Wireless Ear Buds / Ear Phones Simultaneously.
4. Ultra Fast Storage 4.0
5. 5000 mAh Battery.
6. WiFi 6.
7. True 5G.
8. 512GB Base Storage and 1TB version.
9. 12GB RAM
10. Front & Rear Camera's with 3D Vision Capabilities.
11. True World Phone.

I was on board all the way till bixby button. It needs to go away entirely. Unnecessary resource drain.
It's not going anywhere soon.

But I don't get the problem with it. I don't notice a "resource" drain with it. Having something I won't use wouldn't sway me one way or the other. Not having something, now that would.

Question is will the note 10 need more than 8GB of ram? Those with the 512GB note 9 how much does the two extra ram matter?

I would like:
-Improved camera (not re-using same parts from Note 8)
-No Bixby button
-Lower the volume rocker a little
-Better note taking app (similar to S-Note)
-I wouldn't mind a flat screen this time.

Get ready for 19:9 then. Aren't the S10's using this ratio? I haven't kept up with the news as much as I would a Note. But, I believe I heard that somewhere.

I don't need 3 or 4 rear facing cameras. How about increasing the sensor size, adding optical zoom or improving other aspects of the hardware? I heard Sony released a 48mp sensor that combines 4 pixels into one to give a highly detailed 12mp picture. Not exactly sure of the process. But, Samsung needs to step it up in this department. They have pretty much had the same cameras for 2 years now.

Well after the S10 launch the other day I find it hard to wait for the Note 10 :-)

Same size Note 10 but zero bezels = larger screen, at least 5000Mah battery, don't mind either way about bluetooth pen, hardly ever use that function, 4 x Optical zoom camera with wide angle also, 3 cameras is still sufficient with normal, zoom and wide. Don't mind either way about finger print sensor either, I'm happy enough where it is on the Note 9, being in the building/construction game I would rather scar my fps than the screen fps;) free Samsung case inside the box while you deliberate which main case you will buy, also free wireless headphones/buds as we got SFA last time around, the only positive there is I sold the fortnite skin for £53 lol

I am hoping that they bring the iris scanner and led notification light back.

I feel that the Note series is often focused at the professional or business user. If this is the case, then downgrading from two secure unlock methods to one secure lock method is not a good idea.

I recently went through and enabled 2FA on all the accounts that I could until I can get around to changing all my passwords after so many companies have given away my information.

On the few accounts that would let me, I enabled multiple 2FA methods. I have a yubikey 5 and I have most of my accounts set up with it, but I keep it with my Surface until I get a secure solution to put it on my keys, so I have some accounts connected with Google Authenticator.

The point is that having multiple methods of securely accessing your information, device, etc. is what a more business focused consumer might expect from a phone that is marketed more towards them than normal consumers.

I definitely agree with the Iris scanner and having multiple ways to access the phone and/or apps. I hate seeming them turn the note into more of a mainstream phone, but I guess we will see.

What did you mean by bringing back the led notification light? That one confused me. The Note 9 has a notification light. Is it missing on the S10?
