Hi all,

I have a question for people with experience in using the Note 1, 2 and 3 for some period of time as their daily driver.

How much more productive are you really with these devices?

Background:
Since jumping on the android fanwagon, I have had the S3 and now the Nexus 4. I am a school teacher, principal intern and grad student. I use my phone or tablet (N7) for taking anecdotal thumb typed notes as I work with students about their performance; and when in meetings to discuss student progress or other topics. I mostly use Evernote for my notes so I can also access them on my pc. Wearing these three hats means I am busy and need to maximize my time. I find that carrying the N7 in my pocket is a pain sometimes. I also feel like the N4 is difficult to type on because I have big hands. Typing on the N7 with my thumbs in portrait mode is fine, but it's just slightly large for me... I wish there was an N6 or a non-cell phone version of the mega.

So, I am always curious about the Notes. I'm just not sure I buy the hype and I also like that I get updates straight from Google. It would be worth giving those up if this device was a difference maker in terms of productivity.

Thanks

If you love tablets and smartphones, then in my opinion, the Note 3 would be all you need. The size is huge enough for readability. What I do like about it, is that I do use the S-Pen for writing down notes at meetings and such. The S-Pen functionality on the Note 3 has become a lot more improved than in the Note 2 (that much I do know.)

The only thing I do have to disclose is that the manufacture date on any Note 3 has to be paid attention to, especially if you get a Black one. A lot of the Black Note 3s have a bad home button that, after awhile, gets loose. In the beginning I didn't notice it, but then it got really, really bad. I had to send mine in to Samsung, and won't see it again for another week. But assuming I get it back, and it functions the same way it did in my Note 2, I will be very happy again. I am seriously going through Note 3 withdrawal...

The video playback is amazing...and I think an update just came out where they improved the sound quality. Can't wait for that... :D I would get it for 14 days just to play around with it...you'll find that it does all of your needs as a tablet and a phone, plus you get a little productivity with the S-Pen. You're not going to be writing papers with it (or any tablet...unless it's one of those hybrid deals), but you'll find yourself productive enough with it.

BTW, MBA student here...used the Note 3 a good deal to get into my LMS. (e.g. Moodle, Blackboard, etc.)

Thank you. Yes, no papers on that or any tablet... More for notes during meetings and when working with students. one-two paragraphs at most, which I already do on the N7, so I get that. Mostly shorthand notes thumbed in.. I find myself leaving the N7 behind too much, then when I try to work on the N4 in meetings, it feels tight.

Thank you again.

Anyone else?
