Note 20 Ultra pre-order thread!

I just canceled my Ultra 512 GB for a 3rd time and did the order again because now it was letting me select the $200 gifts now as opposed to waiting for the coupon. For some reason it was only letting me get the $150 now but if I saved for later it gave me the $200. So this should be the last time now that I got the $200 worth of gifts now, the 10% off was immediately reissued plus the 10% ebates. Delivery date still was the 21st so that didn't change either.

Why are they only giving you $500 for your Note 10 plus? It should be $650?

I upgrade too often to worry about buyback at least with their promos. Traded in my S10+ last year and got the S20 Ultra for 450. Got my note 10+ for about 500 after trade so 650 is more than generous to me.
Exactly. I'd rather get the guaranteed $725 buyback of the Note 20 Ultra for my next upgrade.

Which model ultra? Because the one i got retails for $1449. Even if you use the non samsung financing offer and do the $650 trade in your price makes no sense.

Not to mention im only paying $24 a month. That's only $288. Thats all I will be spending to use this phone the next year. In 12 months i will upgrade to the next note most likely as usual. With the Samsung financing guarantee of $725 buy back on the Note 20 ultra in 12 months they will actually pay the balance off with that trade in and still leave me with an extra $50. I've yet to see a way to do it with less out of pocket.

I cancelled my original order a few days ago bc I forgot to use the rakuten 10%. Got the 10% back from Samsung. Somehow I lost my 50.00 reservation for the Samsung store but it's fine I only wanted the buds anyways. So everything cam to like 650. With tax and with the 61 back from rakuten it'll be like 580. Not bad :)

I was curious what my final out of pocket cost will be with everything and it will be around $166 give or take. #EverydayImHustlin 😁

Edit: The Note9 was bought from Amazon, not eBay.

Quick question, will the unlocked version be able to pick up T-Mobile 5G network without issue? I believe it will but couldn’t find anything specific

Yes it'll with no problem just like the S20 US unlocked models.

I've heard, including from one close friend who had the Unlocked Note10, that are occasionally slight issues with the Unlocked variant vs. T-Mobile's.

See this from a Samsung support page. The video calling part is irrelevant if you set your default video calling app to Google Duo:

Yes, VoLTE, WiFi-Calling and Carrier Aggregation are all supported on T-Mobile. But VoLTE on T-Mobile is having a little bit of issues and which makes the unlocked phones delayed to release an update because of that. LTE band 4 and 66 VoLTE calls will drop if you switch between these two LTE bands so T-Mobile decided to have Band 4 MFBI (multi frqequency Band Indicator) as Band 66 but Unlocked devices is not getting any Band 66 on the phone yet. Maybe next update.? T-Mobile doesn't own a lot of Band 66 licensed only on the area where they dont have B4. B4/66 have the same exact frequency just that B66 has one more block addition to their spectrum.

Currently both S10 and Note 10 supports LTE 2,4,5,12,46,48,71 by dialing *#2263#... Now, LTE-U (Unlicensed) is long gone now, it is same frequency as B46 LAA (Licensed Assisted Access) just a software update. When 5Ghz released in the USA, FCC/Network hasnt decided which LTE band to use but now they finalized and decided Band 46 LAA (5ghz) will be use in the USA for good.

LTE Band 48 (3500 Mhz) is half Licensed and half unlicensed, Although T-Mobile shows B48 on the S10 and Note 10, Tmobile hasn't deployed this yet in the USA. Verizon has been testing this B48 band since last year and I believe they are slowy rolling it out only to a very congested area. LTE Band 46 and 48 are both LTE TDD which means a one way street you can not download and upload at the same time.

Note 10 and S10 supports 7 Carrier Aggregation but T-Mobile restricts this to 3CA only and AT&T is showing 5CA support on both devices.

Video-calling may not be supported on unlocked devices. The device does support RCS for unlocked but Google is slowly rolling this out this year not yet in the USA though only in parts of the world.

Hello,

I'm new here and just wanted to share that I just pre-ordered using the tricks shared in this thread. I used a 5% off referral code, 10% cashback through Rakuten, and 10% off after requesting cancellation. Im trading in my Note 8 for $250 so after taxes I will be paying around $880. This is about $300 more than what I paid for my Note 8 using similar promotions, but I got the buds live and a case and will be returning a pair of buds + I recently purchased so this will offset the cost. I previously had the Note 4 and Note 5 so I'm a loyal consumer and looking at other options such as the S20+ or One Plus 8 Pro, which is currently sold out, this seems like a good deal given the market.

I had to do two orders and received the cancellation offer both times using Best Buy so perhaps it depends on which competitor you select?

I still enjoy my Note 8 so im really excited to upgrade!

Thank you everyone for sharing your pre-order experience and tips.

Welcome!

What's the 5% referral code?

Does anyone know how quickly if I cancel my pre-order with AT&T they will reset the line eligibility to upgrade again? As I didn't do the Rakuten.

Well if you don't think there is a big difference between the 9 and 20 ultra, which I think there is between the 2, then stay where you're at. Moving for 5G right now is no reason to change, 5G is nowhere close to being a good reason to move, there's a long ways from being decent. It's very sparse and will be for awhile. Although,I think T MOBILE is leading the path, Verizon is trailing IMO, but that's nothing new with Verizon.

Do you think its worth upgrading from the 9 to the 20U? Since tmobile is leading the way in 5g dont you think I will start to see a better permanence from using 5g vs lte?

It's my speculation that TMobile is leading the way. It's still going to be a little bit for full 5G IMO. I personally think you will be wowed by the difference on the note 20U coming from the note 9.

Edit.. Of course everyone is different.

Just saw that the hybrid sim card is back in the Ultra plus esim. Curious if anybody knows, can I activate the esim, use sim slot one and still use a memory card?

Thanks. Do you know if next years note series will have a huge jump in features or incremental ones?
