Note 3: Is it normal for my phone to drop from 100% to 98% straight away?

My Note 3 does this as well, and so does my note 2. Actually my note 2 has the zero lemon battery and dropped to 97% in about 10min idle, took another 24 hrs to drop to 90%

1st up I have a GN2
2nd up is this from the GN2 forum where a poster said how he solved battery drain using *#0228# when charged to 100%
It drops mine went to 91%
charged to 100%
repeat & went to 94%
charged then went to 96
again then went to 98
now charged to 100% but this time it dropped to 98 as I was doing the reset start (I unplugged charger as I was want to press the start)
It then dropped to 96
I am now in drain to conk out as it is at 25 now
will then charge to 100 and repeat the reset
This is all about recalibrating the battery which is what the process does
I noticed, or thought I did, good battery on way down
Tad over 24 hours on battery only 3.5 hours Screen time now at 23%
This is all to address any perceived excess battery Useage
I think this should address that
But back to OP is that I noticed the immediate 2% drop that it had never done before straight after unplug
Mefinks that when I go to zero then recharge and reset it will go back to no drop

This may be a good way to 're-train' the battery. I have been messing mine up in the last week with too many top ups in the same cycle.
However I have on good authority - ish that draining the battery to zero regularly (I know you are not saying this) is not the way to go. 10 - 15% minimum, keeping between 30 - 80% when possible is also good, and it's healthy to top up from 50% as the battery is cooler and it counts as a half cycle in the battery's life.
I haven't measured or regularly noticed the 100 - 98% drop, but I'm happy to accept @FBA's post that this built in behaviour as offered by @jdevenberg has now been changed in Kitkat.

OKey Dokely
so an update from my post # 20
drained till it conked
Took over a couple of hours just to get to 20% to 25%,
so let go overnight
In the am
repeated & it dropped to 91 again
next was 94 or 97
either way when I did hit 97 and redid it went to 95
So
left on to 100 unplug then drop back to 95
But
kept on charge & when unplug noticed 96 then 97
So 20 min charge crept it to 100 after unplug
say 10-11 hours later @ 91
Now 87 looking & writing this
So the 2% drop gone
and
my beautiful battery life is back
@ Madd54
Yip I agree with not draining
this was the 1st time
I treat my phone & wallet as essential go bags
got money got coms go all good
