Note 3 Lollipop Update problems and solutions

I've done a factory reset. The lollipop update caused extensive battery usage, settings changing on their own, and most annoying was automatically rejection of incoming calls. I tried everything, even clearing cache, but finally bit the bullet, backed everything up and did the factory reset. Works like a charm now and I will not be accepting the lollipop update when it comes back around.

Not sure I understand this.

Are you rooted?

Otherwise, if you accepted the lollipop update to begin with, a factory reset would not change this, and you would still have lollipop.

No LED control

Since the update, I've totally lost my led. The flashlight app that shipped with it is even gone. So no flash with my camera, and even after downloading a new flashlight app..... no luck.

Other than this one bug, I'm just suffering from disappointment with some of the software changes they made that I don't like, but can live with.

Thanks in advance for any help, even though I'm kinda figuring a fresh try or live without it.

After 5.0 update. I have a problem with the connection to my Moto 360. Moto 360 losts connection to phone 5-6 times every day.

I just got a used Note 3 off eBay to try out. I popped in my Verizon sim and everything seems to be working, but I am stuck on 4.4.2. Can't seem to find software updates. I already did a factory reset, and still the same issue. Any other potential fixes?

I have an similar problem with my Note 3. (SM-N9005, not restricted to any carrier.) I might re-install 4.4.2 as I have an rooted phone if anyone is wondering.

My Samsung Gear Fit (SM-R350) is doing the same as your watch is and don't know why. I didin't update my phone with the OTA as Lollipop update is not officially available here where I live.

I have the same problems as most of the people here are complaining about regarding heavy battery drain. I have around 2x bigger battery than the normal is and yet I'm lucky if it last 48hours. With the 4.4.2 I didin't need to charge for 24-48hours.

Battery info:
Stock: 3200 mAh (With NFC)
Replacement big battery: 6400 mAh (Without NFC support, the official back cover needed to be replaced as well.)

Didn't root. As of today you can't root 4.4.4 or 5.0. But, for whatever reason, Samsung/Verizon didn't blacklist the NK1 firmware, so you can flash 4.4.4-NK1. NJ6 fails, it needs to be NK1.

I got the firmware from sammobile, and flashed it using Odin 3.09. Download it, place it in the AP slot, start the phone in download mode (volume down and home) then flash it.

Give me a few and I'll give you links. If you do this, it is not like an OTA update. It's like a factory reset, so backup what's important first.

Edit: I also experienced the disconnect when someone called. Extremely annoying. It went away on its own, but I still went back to KitKat. The colors on lollipop are horrific.

07/25/2015 - Note 3 was on Lollipop and battery life dropped to a mere 2 hours. Verizon and Samsung both gave the the same answer, "Sucks to be you...." and "No roll-back is possible...."

So today I downloaded NJ6 version from sammobile and successfully flashed with Odin 3.09 - YEAH!!! (Die Lollipop, die....) Phone went into boot-loop at Verizon splash-screen. Removed battery and booted into bootloader mode (HOME+VOLUME UP+POWER). From there selected FACTORY RESET and then selected WIPE CACHE. Booted up successfully from there and running 4.4.4 once again.
