why did you buy a regular sdxc card?

Spent a bunch of time looking at all the micro sdxc cards on amazon. Finally decided to pull the trigger, and just didn't realize I had clicked on the wrong one. They're refunding though.

Alright, so I got the (correct)SD card in finally. Now I've got a couple of questions.

First, ExFat is the format I want if I want to be able to transfer files larger than 4GB, correct? If so, will the Note 4 format to this, or must I use my PC?

Second, now that my SD card is installed, how does the device distribute files to it? Is this done completely manually by me? Or can I tell it which types of files to be stored internally or on the card?
