Ok I have seen arguments both ways but how many are having to charge their Note 5 more than once a day? I am averaging plugging it up about 3 times a day. Literally within 4 hours of being at work and very light use the battery drops below 50%.

How often do you reboot your device? Clearing your system cache may help. Also downloading an app like GSAM battery monitor can tell you if you have a rouge app killing your battery. Failing all else, a factory reset can help this too. Hope it gets better for you!

Yeah that doesn't sound good at all. I charge mine when I go to bed. I'm a light user, too so I'd try those suggestions. Good luck!

Re: Note 5 battery life sux

Please post some picture of your stats. Something is definitely going on.. It shouldn't be draining that fast.

What's the signal quality at your work? If it's borderline this would cause your device to eat throughout the battery.

Re: Note 5 battery life sux

I used to have very bad battery life when I was with AT&T because I could never get very good reception here in Denver. Once I switched to T-Mobile, my battery life doubled and it's been excellent on just about every phone I've owned since on T-Mobile.

Signal quality at work is pretty good and I do run my wifi @ work because I have a router in my office so I try to cut back on any data I use there. I am attaching screen shots to look at.

There is definitely something haywire with the OP's phone or settings. I use mine in business, frequently for 9 to 11 hours a day, phone, email, etc. One charge per day and haven't gone below 40% yet, mostly 50%.

Re: Note 5 battery life sux

Yeah I pre-ordered my phone when they first came out. I have taken it back to Verizon and the lil punk salesman said well I'm surprised you are getting 8hrs out of it. Called Samsung and all they wanted to do was tell me things to extend battery life, kept telling them it wasn't gonna help because the battery is junk.

Re: Note 5 battery life sux

I can easily get eight hours. The GSAM screenshot appears to be a portion of the apps, so if you can show more that would help to better understand if there's an app that is consuming battery. How is the cell signal at work, home, or other frequently visited places? Poor signal can definitely drain battery as well.

Re: Note 5 battery life sux

So on my note 5 I'm using package disabler and have the junk that Samsung and Verizon like to cram in our phones disabled. I use darker wallpapers, and the dark material theme from the theme store, I have the screen brightness set to auto. Among the apps disabled are Instagram, Facebook, and Google +. Instead I have their web pages saved on the home screen, since making these few changes my battery life has gone through the roof. I take it off the charger around 0600 and usually don't plug it back in until around 11:00 pm. At this point, I've been on the battery for approximately 17 hours and the battery stats day I have another 12 hours to go.

This reminded me to look at GSam this morning and I discovered that Go Weather App was using 1% of all my apps battery power. And I don't use it. I was experimenting with Next Launcher (which is just an invitation to sales spam IMO), uninstalled it, but failed to installed the weather app. The miserable thing was still working in the background. So now that's gone. GSam is very useful. Over time you can collect apps and forget about them. Doesn't mean they stop using juice. Also, Doze works IMO. DL and give it a try. Some form of it will be in our next OS update.

Re: Note 5 battery life sux

What are the top % apps in GSAM. The ones I see are 1% or less. There should be some apps that use more than that.

The problem is the Facebook app. I was going to sleep with 100% charge and waking with 60%. Uninstall the FB app and then just add the mobile site from chrome to your home screen. The battery went from being projected to last 8 hours to over 30 hours.

My Facebook app is always at the very bottom of the usage stats. It never uses more the 1% and has never been a problem for me on any of my phones.

My Note 5 dropped 2% over night.

Same problem here too. I usually clear the cache of several running systems but I am not happy with the battery life.

also could of been my weather channel app because I got rid of that as well. Used the phone all day since 8 am and am only at 72% . Great battery life now.
