Note 5 Battery life thread

Jeez, the list of things you've enabled would be shorter. :)

I gave up on the Note 5 because the battery life was dreadful and it reached the point where I was disabling so much as a sacrifice to the battery gods that I may as well have owned a StarTac. And this is why I always end up back with an iPhone. I don't need to disable anything to get great battery life.
Lol my Daughters iPhone 6 plus has very bad battery life mate not even close to what my Note 5 battery life gets and some of her friends has the iPhone 6 and they can't even get 4 hrs SOT and have to charge it almost 3x a day , living proof cause my daughter lives with me on AT&T iPhone 6 plus and shes had to charge it twice a day, so i will be selling it and get her the SG 7 that comes out in February.

I was thinking about switching to the LG G4 and pay off my Note 5. I miss having a Micro SD card slot and removable battery.

You can do that, but looks like the LG 5 won't have SD card or removable battery , Google it that is the rumor so I'm not sure if is true or not, most of all the Android phones are going that direction, but not 100% sure and SD cards get corrupted with due time so i don't miss it at all.

Is there a way to get better battery life or is this good ??

Well, I can only speak for my experience. Note 5 doesn't make it through the day, 6S+ sometimes makes it through close to two days. Not to mention the battery drain on the Note 5 overnight when it's doing nothing, as opposed to the 6S+ and Nexus 6P that don't lose anything over night. And I'm not surprised your Note lasts a very long time with everything you have disabled, but again, if I wanted to toggle everything off and turn it into a dumb phone, I'd get a dumb phone.

The bloatware ruins an otherwise great phone. I'm more tempted to jump ship to Nexus or Motorola.

Only thing that's disable is all the AT&T Bloatware and 3 other apps i never use , Facebook, Instagram and Chrome the rest is part of the system hardware phone which i still have all those running, bloatware AT&T is what's in Playstore that can be installed normally if it didn't have all those bloatwares so the Note 5 functions are running and if my phone at 100 % after waking up 8 hrs later no battery drain at all , it be at 97 % which that is normal, now Verizon Note 5 has a big battery drain bug, so my phone isn't running naked.

I tried the Nexus 6P for a week, that phone is not even close to my Battery life on my Note 5, the Nexus i had to recharge twice a day and i was using it exactly like i do with my Note 5, The Note 5 last me over 24 hrs or about 20 then i would charge it , i tested also the SOT on the Nexus and most i got out of it if lucky 4 hrs, with my Note 5 i get double that which is 7 to 8 hrs SOT, and the Nexus was boring lol so i return it and got my wife the S6 Edge Plus, cause she didn't like the Nexus, just thought i mention that.

Good looking out. I'll do some more further testing with my Note 5 and check my options because I love the Note 5 and it would really be hard for me to switch due to the screen being awesome same with the camera and stylus.

No problem look a few post back got 7hrs SOT .

I unplugged my phone last night fully charged at 11 pm. Woke up at 5 am at 98%. I can't complain. Great standby percentage.

Checked my stats this morning. After 1 hour disconnected and 27:39 screen I am at 95%. GSam indicates that my T-Mobile Note 5 averages 1d 11h 23 min on a single charge. I can't complain, these are better results than I was getting with my Galaxy S5.

These new settings are kicking *** now. :) Now I have to look into getting a secondary Android device so that I can use it for Facebook and such.

Well I have an S6 Edge from last year. Sprint put out a patch a couple of patches ago that did something to the battery. It's much better now. I just looked at my stats and i have 89% battery after 3 hrs. I have location, notifications, power saving and full brightness on. Granted, as someone has already pointed out, mileage varies, but in comparison to pre-patch on the same phone, same usage, this means I'm getting 19 hrs instead of 8 or so...theoretically.

That is a lot to disable. What made you buy the Note 5 over say a Nexus if you disable a lot of the things that makes it a Note?

Read above what i have mentioned all that is Bloatware, that can be installed right from Playstore, it is nothing from the phone itself, Verizon and AT&T, loves to add lot's of bloatware that the Note Series don't need cause those bloatwares app are nothing but from Playstore those app have nothing to do with all the functions that the Note 5 runs.

It just seemed like a lot and wasn't sure you were getting the features of the Note with that much customization. T-Mobile isn't as bad but they do have their share of bloatware.

Yeah if it was a international Note 5 it has none of those bloatwares i mentioned, and yes T-Mobile has less bloatware, but nothing like AT&T and Verizon, all the bloatware i disabled doesn't effect the Note 5 functions at all, i just wish we were able to uninstall them but only have the option to disable them, which truly is dumb from our provider's, if AT&T Note 5 was able to be rooted and be able to flash roms i would definitely remove those bloatwares i disabled since it's just junk , i am a Developer in XDA i make Roms and all developers that make roms usually removes all those bloatwares, if someone wanted some of them you could just install them from Playstore.
