Note 5 Battery life thread

This is my first full day using it. And I compare battery life based on out of the box typical user would do. No battery save mode no turning Bluetooth or WiFi on and off all day. I do keep location on battery saving though. But it seems just ok I had to add like 25% top off mid day to make it. I find it to be decent battery. Not great but not awful.

Something is not right. I only read something and i use 1% every 2 minutes. Is it normal? 40 mins SOT and 75% and dropping.
I start to have a feeling google now is a culprit here as google play jumped pass screen as number one battery consumption

In regards to Google play, I read on an xda thread about wiping the Google play cache, uninstalling any updates, and then booting the device into recovery to wipe the system cache. Also go into wifi settings and don't allow Google play to turn on wifi to

There must be some easier way. Uninstalling updates will not let you run some appa such as google photos. I wonder if deactivate google now will it help. First day battery was great until i factory reset it and singed up activated google now. Right now im looking at 3 or max 4 hours sot

I am thoroughly impressed with the battery on this thing. I was really would about the smaller battery and the fact that it was sealed in.

Streaming Google play music for 3 hours in case anyone was wondering.

If battery was your issue with the Note 5, worry not. Bluetooth on with my watch. Sync is never turned off, brightness is about 40%-100% depending on where I am. I also still have 20% battery so I still have a few hours left.

Uninstalling GOOGLE PLAY updates, the app, not updates of apps in Google Play.

Try, When I got phone out of box and installed Google photos it said it would not launch until Google play is updated to the latest version. Same happened when I uninstalled update for Google Play!

Those of you people who manage over 4 hours SOT can you please let us Know how your options configured? Anything you disabled? Like Google now or location? Anything from the Sync? Facebook or so on? What about Gestures have you disabled them or not?

One more thing Settings->>> Display--> Smart Stay is it ON or OFF? it uses camera to track eyes so it wont switch off display as long as you are looking at it. I just switched that off,

You have to reinstall the updates after I installing and clearing data, etc.

That's not particularly good... what phone did you come from where this is impressive? The guy on here who got 11 hours in a 24 hour period is what I'd like to see on all our devices

Well, I'm more impressed with the Screen On Time than the total hours. Those screenshots represent near-constant use. Hitting 5 hours SOT with a little left is spare is better than most any other Android phone I've used.

My most recent daily drivers were a Note 4, LG G4 and Nexus 6. I often found it hard to go more than 4 hours SOT on any of them without hitting 15% or less.

Re: Samsung is supposedly releasing fast-charging portable battery pack

This is really a Bummer cause all of my Galaxy phones have been Tight White (as I call them, Lol) so this really let me down but that didn't stop the show. Black it is in 64gig. Be here on Wednesday in Houston Tx. I'm liking everything I'm reading on here about battery life.

Here is my results with light use.

I gave my note 5 back for an S6 active. The battery on my note 5 was horrible. I dont know if i got a defective device or whatthe deal was. But the battery life on the S6 active lasts me 2 days and im a pretty heavy user. I do miss the big screen.

I know what you mean, and may return it too next week, and revert to my Note 4 with the 2 spare batteries. What's the point of using the latest and greatest when we have to disable certain features/apps, adjust the brightness display, etc? All this worrying about how to get "better" battery sometimes take the fun out of the whole experience. Don't get me wrong, the phone is awesome otherwise.

Maybe you have a bad one, I have everything thing turn on, plus my s gear as well, I came from using a Note Edge, the Note 5 outperform my Note Edge easy.

My battery is draining at what seems like a percent every 3 or 4 minutes. Standby works great but every time the screen turns on it drops one percent in the following minute. Just downloaded GSAM to see if it could help or it could help you help me.

Heavy usage today. Didn't use the fast charger last night. Wanted to see if the battery holds a charge longer with a regular charger. Can't really tell as I never used my phone this much before. Try again tomorrow with the regular charger with normal usage.
