AC Question

Hi,

I just got Note 5 before a week. After using it a while, I found that my phone LED notification is not working for all the colours like Yellow, Pink, White.

LED notification is working fine with BLUE, RED, GREEN but not for other colours.

I set different colours one by one in WhatsApp LED notification (Setting - Notification - LED), but not all are working and I see mixing of two colurs in case of Yellow, Pink, White.

Any Idea why ? S6 and Note 5 both has RGB sensor but I got above issue in my Note 5 while my friend's S6 is showing all the LED colors.

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks,
Dave Chintan.

Mod Note, I will move this to the n5 forum for more visibility

If I'm not mistaken, you will need something like the Light Flow app to get the other colors. I'm not sure about that app now, but a couple of years ago it caused a lot of problems with phones.

at Kelly: Whatsapp has official inbuilt functionality to set the led notification color, which in my case now wokring for colors except RGB.

I also tested Light Flow and LED Blinker but same issue with them for those colors.

I understand that about Whatsapp but I had to use lightflow for other colors.. It was either my Note 4 or Note 5. I ended up removing it though, I only really wanted it to turn off the blinking while charging.. So that is probably an indication it was for the N5.

This phone might only display those colors. In fact I just installed an app called LED color tester and it really didn't display those other colors at all.

The 5.1.1 update to Samsung phones altered the notification process such that there are issues displaying the LED colors correctly. Lightflow and others have a workaround, but it's still problematic. I'm hoping Marshmallow, when it eventually comes, will resolve this issue.

Thanks Kelly for testing this and confirm the same issue on your Note 5.

I think its the Samsung Software issue but not hardware as Note 5 has the same sensor as Galaxy S6 and on S6 this is working fine. It just a need proper combination of RGB colors to display other colors. and this combination is not correct in case of Note 5 software.

agree with kcalmol.

i installed light manager on my s6 and it's working without a problem, the only thing you have to do is disable the in-app led notification for the apps you enable in Light manager :)Screenshot_2016-01-11-11-32-11.jpg

I use the on-screen option in the LED Blinker Notifications app, and it works perfectly. That's my workaround until I give Lightflow another shot with MM.

Thanks Mariusflip and kcalmol.

Acutally this problem is only with Note 5 (and with some specific software build). In my note 5 software, there is also not Quick shortcut of Mobile data ON/OFF button in notification bar. It was not present there ever yet.
