Hi,

I was wondering if any of you guys experience issues with the phone being too hot? Mine constantly goes to about 35 - 37 degrees from a few activities, namely when I play Hearthstone, or when i charge it via wireless...Is it a faulty unit?

Thanks!

That temperature is within normal ranges.

This phone has been the coolest running phone I've ever had. Even after watching a bunch of YouTube it never gets above 95 degrees.

So far I have not noticed any heating issues with my Note 5 and battery standby has been awesome. I did have heating issues and battery drain with the S6 edge which is why I dumped it and got the Note 5. If you are feeling excessive heat and/or battery drain with your Note 5 you might want to try to exchange it. The problem will only get worse with time. You could also try a factory reset to see if that clears up any problems you may be experiencing.

It seems around normal. My g4 got up to 125 deg F and automatically dimmed the screen when using navigation... Now that was overheating....

kroman: Is that with playing games even? Cuz i read from some other users on XDA that their phone stays pretty cool even while playing VainGlory and stuff, but mine heats till about 37-38 :( and it is rather warm to touch being in a tropical country!

Mine definitely gets slightly warm to the touch... but then I'm in Hong Kong with 32-35 degrees weather at the moment. I was concerned as well in the beginning, but I tried doing exactly the same things on my OnePlus One (ie. high res youtube video) and they were about the same temperature.

After uninstalling Baidu Browser (which installed itself), my Note 5 is no more overheated and battery life back to normal. Looks Baidu Browser is a bad application that install itself without my knowledge. :)

I have had heating issues right from day 1. I even got my phone replaced after 1 week. I felt the phone was hot compared to my note 3..even now usually the temperature is around mid 80s ans it gets upto mid 90s when i play games or watch you tube. But now it's less annoying - I guess i got used to the heat..

Very cool running phone. In fact, compared to my earlier Samsung and Motorola phones, this Note 5 barely breaks a sweat.

I took a video over 10 minutes the other day and it shut down the camera off and said to try again when the phone was cooler. :(

Consistently the coolest running phone I've had in a while. It gets a little warm if a play an action game but not bad at all. At least as cool as my 6s Plus.

Mine only overheats when plugged into my Gear VR. You may have one or more apps going wonky, or poor reception.

MIne overheats severely in my gear vr and it takes all the fun out of it as soon as I find what I want to do I find out that its too hot and will run better cooled down it gets kinda hot in my cases as well stunning phone gotta get used to it for 2 yrs I guess ha not a deal breaker because of all of the other great features of the phone.

One thing I didn't so...after the update to Android 6.01, I didn't do a factory reset. I didn't feel like I had to because it has been running so well. But videoing has been wonky and with the overheating, wondering it it could help to do a factory reset.
