Note 5 vs iPhone 6s

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

One thing that I haven't seen people talk about as much as I thought they would is the build quality of the Note 5. It is remarkable. Looks and feels fantastic. It reminds me of a big iPhone 4S.

I agree with you about the iPad. I loved my iPad Air 2. However, I do feel that I haven't given Android tablets a fair shot. I haven't owned an Android tablet since the Nexus 7 and I didn't have that long. With the Note 5, I don't feel like I need a tablet. I've been doing fine without one.

That is the way I have been, but I find myself now wanting a tablet. Don't want a small one or a large one. I would like something much smaller than my laptop, but bigger than my Note. Maybe about an 8" tablet.

I just picked up a galaxy tab s2 8 inch. And it's a really.nice tablet. Great battery life and really nice display as always with samsung. Check it out definantly worth it. If im not mistaking samsung has some early black Friday deals going on for their tablets .

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

I'm an Android fanatic, but I like iOS too. So I grabbed a 6s Plus. Used it for a bit and it'll be going back. I miss the freedom of Android. I have always liked and respected Apple and iOS, but after the Note 5 and 6P, I've come to realize that the quality of Android devices has reached the quality of Apple devices. And that Apple provides me nothing more, and in fact provides me less, than what I can get on Android device. This has been an eye opening experience. And one that will probably save me money in the long run. I'm most definitely not bashing Apple, but for me, I'm coming home to Android where I belong.

Well said. Agree that the quality, features, and capabilities are on par overall and better in some areas. I'm happy for sure with the Note 5. I think Apple has a lead in the support and warranty areas, though, but that could be just my own experience as I've not yet had to deal with Samsung for a support or warranty case.

Exactly. The quality of Android phones is great at this point in time. And they don't seem to have any more issues than iPhones do. I definitely agree about the warranty service, though. But it's worth it to me to have the additional features that Android has to sacrifice that one benefit.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

Just saw that the Samsung VR is going to be $99 and T-mobile is going to be selling it. This is going to be tough to get. Also another reason I love that I am sticking with my Note 5.

As someone who still has not committed one of the things driving me continually back to my Note is how much better it is to hold and use versus the iPhone 6s. For the first time I feel like Apple needs to take some design cues from Samsung.

OK. Now how do I use Samsung pay? Does nfc have to be on? Once I saw chase wasn't supported I never bothered reading up on it. Lol

I have my NFC on all the time so I don't know if it is necessary but I think it is all you have to do is scan your card and register it.

I don't really notice a difference in handling the two phones. But, I do think the build quality of the Note 5 is better. Samsung really got it right with this one.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

By the way, I have been itching to purchase a new case for my phone, but I'm trying to abstain. The Tech 21 case I have already has been doing a great job and looks good. Trying to convince myself that I don't need yet another case.

I know your pain. Black Friday deals I will probably be looking for a iPhone 6s. I hate switching back and forth though.

@doctordwaynewilliams are you still on the fence, or purely Note 5 now?

I'm all in with the Note 5 now. Been very happy. Figured out a workaround with iMessage. Everything else has been great. No complaints here. I have even kept the same case the entire time. So I haven't wasted any money on accessories. Now I do get curious about other devices. I was looking at the Blackberry Priv. But nothing has been able to compare to my Note 5.

Do you mind sharing your work around for imessage?

With pictures I don't have to do anything. T-mobile has advanced messaging so pics come in at full resolution. For videos, I use the Google Photos app to send a link of a full resolution video. And I have convinced others to use it as well considering Google allows unlimited downloads. It's an attractive alternative for them and it helps me.

I'll save you the trouble with the Priv. It needs a little work. I've had two, in two weeks...
