Note 5 vs iPhone 6s

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

I see how that could be an issue. What does it do that Android Wear doesn't?

The biggest miss on the Gear S2 is being forced to use S Voice instead of Google. It just doesn't work as well. I tried it on last night and am still going to get it. I like the idea of a watch with notifications, GPS, and the ability to work without the phone nearby.

I find my Apple Watch is being used as just a watch at this point. I don't even have notifications on currently because I hate missing them on the phone.

Starting to think my perfect setup is going to be Number Sync, an iPhone, a Galaxy Note, and a Gear S2 (Also rumored to eventually support iOS).

Oh, and for those thinking of getting a Nexus, they are $50 off with free overnight shipping in the play store.

That little savings and free overnight shipping is REALLY tempting me. I all but completely converted to iOS, but I still have this Android itch/love that is drawing me in. A 128gb 6P with Nexus Protect for $688. That's about $400 less than I paid for a 128gb 6s Plus with AppleCare+.

I think I know where this is heading. :)

I'm actually surprised that I haven't been tempted to switch yet. I have seen some devices that have interested me, but haven't had a real urge to switch. Love my Note 5.

I've been tempted to switch once but that was to a Note 5 LOL

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

OK, so I have a Nexus 6p, and ATT is beta testing their own wifi messaging system, correct? I would have a hard time ever going back to an iphone if I could communicate with people over both platforms. Although, I am going to give myself until Fall with this Nexus 6p and then decide whether to go with the new Note 6 or the iphone 7. I think the Note 6 will be the better choice. I just want to give myself a year with Android to make sure its right for me. Any thoughts?

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

I'm so glad I'm not alone!

I switch between my Note 5, iPhone 6, and Blackberry Passport/Classic almost weekly. I also had the Blackberry Priv, but returned it for my beloved Note 5.

I always keep the iPhone 6 because I have the Apple watch and the iOS is just plain awesome. My whole family is Apple and face time and imessage is what keeps the iPhone 6 close. Well that and my 3 and 6 year Olds can navigate Apple devices like crazy lol. Also, I'm not much of a camera guy, I'm married....so my wife handles 99% of the pics and vids lol.

The part that bugs me is that when sending a video from the iPhone to my GN5, the video always comes in grainy?

Now, the Note 5. Probably the best phone I've ever had! The screen, swype to text, S-pen, battery life, etc... are what keep it my daily driver. I've asked Santa for Gear S Watch lol.

The only drawback to me keeping the Note 5 is the Face time, imessage, and clear videos I get when using my iPhone 6. That and being able to all use the same charger(s).

Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

It really is amazing how the family integration of Apple devices is such a huge driver. My 9 year old is getting his own Touch for Christmas and I want to be able to start to iMessage and FaceTime with him when I travel. It is going to be a big draw for me to go back full time to iOS. Of course since I always have an iOS and Android device hopefully both will work for me still.

My 6P comes tomorrow.

I wanted to share the low light camera comparison between the Note 5 and the iPhone 6 Plus.//images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/12/17/8505c9eee082675ca6b5c3de3b7496e0.jpg The clear winner is the Note 5.

As opposed to the 6 plus.

The 6 plus takes great pictures as long as there's good lighting. But the colors get lost the darker it gets. Both of these were taken with auto. So just point and shoot.

These are taken at two totally different spots though -- Not a very fair comparison ;).

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

I took both of these shots a week apart from each other at the same exact spot. Just because the bulldozer is moved to a different spot makes no difference.

It actually seems to. You took the bulldozer very close up so the picture was more the bulldozer .. The iPhone was taken far away. Also on different days there could be different conditions. A fair comparison is side by side -- same location / spot at the same time to compare the differences with the 100% same conditions. Taking them a week apart and having different objects in focus (bulldozer versus the parking lot) definitely isn't a fair comparison.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

Well... it would make a world of difference. The two shots are exposed differently, focused on different spots, etc. For example, looking at the iPhone shot, the ISO is REALLY high, leading to a ton of noise (and it even looks foggy). But there are enough environmental differences to mess things up a bit.

A lot of photography sites actually go in and flip cameras into full manual mode so they can make sure every shot variable is as identical as possible. Otherwise it's not a good comparison. Not making sure the pictures are truly identical is a mistake that a lot of mobile sites make when they do camera comparisons (though, not all phones can do that sort of thing).

Damn I wish prices were like that in Canada. $699 for the 32GB. Bought mine at Costco and if they ever get even the 64GB I have 90 days to return as long as it is in great condition.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

Well on honor of this thread, I popped the Sim back into my iPhone 6 and put my Apple watch back on for today.

That literally lasted about 10 minutes. I instantly missed my Note 5.

I think I'll try again tomorrow but I feel like I'm really in love with the Note 5, I just don't know it yet.
