Note 5 vs iPhone 6s

Re: iphone vs note 5

I didnt use Facetime that much but not having iMessage sucked, especially when most of your friends and family are on it. Group chats are difficult sometimes you get messages out of order or at times not at all. Thats something to consider.

You have to think of this as a whole, I mean you may have iMessage and FaceTime but you can replace both somehow with other very useful apps.

For imessage you can always use whatsapp that according to latest stats have about a billion of active users a month, so chances are that most if ot all your contacts also use whatsapp, for FaceTime you have Hangouts, Skype and lots of similar apps, even T-Mobile just added native video call feature to the Latest Galaxy flagship and next week will add a couple more and a few others very soon.

BUT there is no way to use or find an alternative on iOS for most if not all of the things I described in the first post. Like I said, little things to consider.

iphone vs note 5

I've never had a problem group texting with iPhone users, even with the native Samsung messaging app. Apart from the limitations on sending videos over MMS (which I don't do really), my experience has basically been the same as with iMessage, including sending photos.

iMessage is a slick messaging app to be sure, but every Samsung phone I've ever had has done just fine out of the box, and there are a lot of third party apps like Textra that are great.

Re: T-mobile rep advised me against the Note 5

But what would he have to gain by talking me out of the Note 5? Maybe in his particular store he really has experienced more Samsung returns than Apple.

I'm sorry but I wouldn't take advice from anyone regarding a purchase that is so personal to me. He's not the one that will be carrying around either phone for the foreseeable future. That's all you.

First of all, the Note 5 is $25, not $29 on JOD. Sounds like you're need a more informed rep. Sounds like an Apple fan boy to me. I've said this before...do your research and get the phone you want. Don't let anyone in a store change your mind.

Yeah mines is only $25 for my 64GB Note 5 so I'm not sure where he getting $29 from.

Re: iphone vs note 5

I knew I forgot one important feature you won't find on iPhone for a long time, wireless charging. Also great to have fast charging plus fast wireless charging.

Re: So there is 0 people here waiting to see what the iPhone 6S Plus will be like before buying Note

Most Apple users don't know RAM vs ROM, CPU or screen resolution, they simply don't care. Its in the world of racing that those things matter, the race in the Android world where we do care if we have the latest and best processor, RAM for actually running many, many, many apps in the background without choking the phone or phone displays that are so brilliant and sharp in resolution and color you could cut yourself on them.

For me each device fits different needs, work and personal, work is iOS and not my choice but it is what it is. Personal has been Android and off an on iOS, Windows, etc, etc.
So are you staying away from the next iPhone? I've got my X on pre-order, but I still want to see the next iPhone and next Nexii before I make the ultimate decision what I'm keeping.

Re: T-mobile rep advised me against the Note 5

1) I'm paying $25.00 p/m for a 64 GB N5
2) I am my own sales person when it comes to phones, just like I am my own movie critic, food tester, I think you get the point. Do your research, look at some unboxing and review videos, play with the phones in the stores, hold them in your hand so you get a true feel for it. The Note 5 is simply a POWERHOUSE, awesome screen, camera, build quality, etc, try it for yourself, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Re: T-mobile rep advised me against the Note 5

Also the iPhone is 15 not 17 on JOD.....rep needs to be fired..lol..

Re: T-mobile rep advised me against the Note 5

i had to exchange today because there was a piece of dust stuck inside the screen. other than that no problem

Re: iphone vs note 5

I was debating between the note 5 and the soon to be released iphone 6s for the longest time. I bought the iphone 6 just to try it out and returned it then bought the note 5 and I'm definitely sticking with the note 5.
Here are some quick thoughts of both devices.

What I liked about the iphone 6:
1. Snappy OS and no lag in most apps especially during scrolling
2. Good camera
3. Perfect size for any pockets.

What I did not like about the iphone 6:
1. Slow charging. Charges faster with the ipad adapter but still slow. takes 1:45 mins to fully charge compared to the 1:20 for the note and 1:10 for the galaxy s6 from my personal experience.
2. Battery life. I had to plug it in half way through the day to make sure it wouldn't die on me later in the evening.
3. Build quality. The corners of the front panel lifted up very slightly after a week of owning it and it would make clicking noises when pressed on.

What I like about the note 5:
1. Quick charging and long lasting battery. This is what made me choose the note 5. Gets me through the entire day no problem. Battery life is my no.1 priority in phones. And with my portable quick charger that i purchased when i had the S6 I can top it off in no time when I'm not at home.
2. Gorgeous screen. I watch alot of videos on my phone and it looks amazing.
3. Good camera.
4. S pen. Im not used to using stylus on phones but the more i use it the more i love it.

What I dont like about the note 5:
1. Not as easy to keep it in my jean pocket all the time. But its manageable. I always take it out when i sit down.
2. S pen isnt very durable. It breaks VERY easily when bent. My first one snapped in half but i got a new S pen with the new note 5 i got because my first note had manufactures defect. Im gonna be extra careful with my new one.
3. If the apps are not optimized then there will be tiny bit of scroll lag. It's not as snappy as the iphone but its still pretty good.

Re: iphone vs note 5

IPhone doesn't down scale anything. MMS does for sure

Actually it does.. Just not when going to other iPhones via iMessage (which means it's two totally different things then). If it is sending MMS it will be compressed just like on Android.. The carriers won't allow massive files over this protocol (nor was it designed for that).

Pretty much what I was thinking too, but I didn't want to hurt his feelings about him. Getting a second opinion at a different store is always a good idea, you never know till you get there

T-mobile rep advised me against the Note 5

I have had the note 2-3 ran back to apple (now w 6+ almost s year) debating on selling for 450 and grabbing that note 5 lol
My ONLY concern is battery... Iphone I can take my mall and pay for s new battery .. Done! To fix.. Cheaper. Just rummaging through my head but I know android phones.
I miss it miss customizing it and love learning all the cool tricks I look up on YouTube for lol
I guess I just love phones and am addicted wish I was rich! LoL

The stores aren't aware of the deal on JOD for the Note 5. Several stores in my area aren't aware.
