Note 5 vs iPhone 6s

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

I wish I had cash to spend on phones like that. I bought the LG Lancet for $120 off contract direct from Verizon and have been using it since, maybe may/april. I want to get a Note 5 but at the same time I am allured by the guaranteed updates of the iPhone 6S Plus. But on the other hand I would love to have a phone with a stylus and I already have invested in the Google/Android ecosystem (over $140 in apps, games and IAPs in the past 2 years). So it is hard. If I do get the Note 5 I wouldnt need a tablet, and the pdf annotating is something I can really use for college. But on the other hand, I love he range of third party accessories for the iPhone and how easy it is to walk into an Apple store for anything.

But I don't want to onvest in the Apple ecosystem really, there is nothing that Apple has in software I care about, I do like Dark Sky, which would be the first app buy on iOS if I got an iPhone. It is just so hard and the fact tha this thread is about people who switch between both all the time, doesn't help, *sigh*.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

Me too. That's the only app that ios 8 didn't break on my iPad. Lol

Well I must be missing something on the kindle app. You can DL samples but not buy. Or I don't see how it can be done. On Safari you are booted to the Prime app. Can't DL from there. You can do it through Chrome but that's not a native browser and it is often broke. That is, it crashes. Btw I'm talking about the phone not iPad.

Is new phone season officially over? I personally hope so.

By the way, staying off the forums is more difficult than I thought. Forums are also addicting :(

Oh Note 5 is much, much better.. Have a look..

hmm thank you perhaps i will have to give the note 5 a second look the 6p is nice but the bezels and lack of wireless charging kill it for me and usb c is still very new so i have to carry a cable with me.

You should. I haven't had any issues with my Note 5 since I got it. Amazing smartphone.

You cannot purchase books directly through the Kindle app on an iPhone or iPad, you can add the Kindle store from Safari to your home page. While on android you can purchase directly through the app.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

maybe you can have both phones

I have been doing fine with just the one. The Note 5 has been really good to me. No complaints. I have even been able to resist the release of other cool smartphones. I have to admit though, I do think about having an iPhone again every once in awhile.

This has been a great thread. I had no idea how many of us there are. My Note 5 is the best phone I've ever had, but no one phone has all the good qualities available out there. Sometimes I get tired of the complexity and multiple steps and miss the iPhone 6s I had. What I wish is to have multiple phones with the same phone number. I could just grab whichever phone I'm in the mood for at the moment and not keep confusing people about which phone number I'm using.

That would be perfect... Just grab whatever phone fits your mood and away you go!

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

^^^ I think its possible to do that. Swap out the SIM card, or if you have two SIM cards, just use the carrier's online activation tool to switch the number from one SIM to the other.

Even that would be too much for me. I just want to have one smartphone that does it all.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

Sometimes I think it would be cool to have one android and one iOS phone. But then I think how difficult it would be switching back and forth. Just this thought has swayed me away from participating in Samsung's promotion of trying out their flagships for 30 days for free.

Honestly if it wasn't for iMovie, I'd have stayed with my Note 5. Even with the ram management and worse battery life than my 6 plus.

I do miss the battery of the iPhone.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

Yeah I have been really good. I haven't missed a thing about my 6S Plus at all. I don't even miss imessage at all. Yeah battery life was crazy on the Plus but this fast charge for my Note 5 is insane. I love the Note. Switching back to the iPhone hasn't even entered my mind at all. Much more productive phone and much more enjoyable for sure.

Yup. Changed from the Plus to the Note 5 a few days ago. I like the user experience of Android much more. But that wireless recharger I bought today is a reminder that it's not perfect.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

I'm an Android fanatic, but I like iOS too. So I grabbed a 6s Plus. Used it for a bit and it'll be going back. I miss the freedom of Android. I have always liked and respected Apple and iOS, but after the Note 5 and 6P, I've come to realize that the quality of Android devices has reached the quality of Apple devices. And that Apple provides me nothing more, and in fact provides me less, than what I can get on Android device. This has been an eye opening experience. And one that will probably save me money in the long run. I'm most definitely not bashing Apple, but for me, I'm coming home to Android where I belong.
