Note 5 vs iPhone 6s

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

I know. It looks interesting to me as well. So far I have been able to abstain. You said it doesn't have a microphone, so how do you make and receive calls? How do you use s-voice?

It does have a microphone...I had a moment lol. It's only been 24 hours and I'm still figuring out this thing

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

I was, like you, switching back and forth between platforms. I used to not carry the same device until the end of the month. I got sick of it. I always compared platforms. Always. When I got the Note 5 something just clicked. Big colorful screen, built-in stylus, nice speakers, top notch camera, fingerprint scanner, wireless charging, and nfc. I was sold and never looked back.

I settled with the Note 5 and not planning to switch back anytime soon. The Note 5 has so much to offer than any/iOS device.

Best of luck with your choice.

Edit: Forgot to mention I got more intune with Google services. The tie between Google services (software) and hardware is really pleasing. I love Google Now.

And I used to be that, but over time have soured on vanilla Android. I like my features and my Samsung services. And camera. And s-pen. And screen. And...

I rocked a S6 Edge and Note 5 for a while and certainly enjoyed it more than my iphone 6. I believe the Priv trumps all 3 of those devices. It's nearly as smooth and as as the Note 5,add in PKB, with HUB,in addition to many BB solutions, Priv leaves everyone else scrapping for 2nd place.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

I would have to disagree. I am a Nexus guy now for sure. I like having an actual Google phone :).

I respectfully disagree, most of BB clients left when the iphone 4 released. As it was perceived/marketed as a wireless solution for the business consumer engineered with more efficient security to the android counterpart. As BB10 has evolved it has taken a blend of both Apple and (more so)Android and with the Priv, BB now enters a realm with the class and elegant engineering supreme to that of even an Apple. Google is the farthest thing from Privacy, couldn't imagine subscribing or endorsing their wireless solutions.

Was at AT&T store yesterday and the manager told me they were selling 5 iPhones to every Android. I could see that with my own eyes

BMW probably sells 10-13 328i to every M3,that doesn't make the 328i a superior car to the M3.In the states Apple will always outsell Samsung head 2 head in wireless devices. Apple spends more in marketing than any other wireless provider and most Americans don't conduct their own R&D when purchasing depreciating assets. As long as it works for you, that's what counts.

Well .. technically one is endorsing them when using Android since they created it :). Using any sort of the Google environment kind of supports it. Heck they even own YouTube but that is another discussion entirely. We can agree to disagree :).

they're all depreciating assets made with cheap materials sold for extremely high mark up,just get a Priv and relax!

Good point. iPhones have amazing resale value. Bought a 64gb 6S on release day. Had ATT unlock it and just sold it on EBay for $700

I wouldn't say the Priv leaves the competition behind at all. From my perspective, it only offers a physical keyboard that really differentiates itself from the pack. Well, my Note 5 does that with the s-pen. As far as BlackBerry services, I'm still not understanding how the Hub is any different from the notification shade or the info you get on widgets. Then when I go down the list of features, the Priv comes up short. Note 5 screen is bigger and better, cameras are better, octa-core compared hexa-core processors, 4GB of RAM compared to 3GB of RAM, wireless changing, heart rate monitor, a suite of Samsung software features, and Samsung Pay. Just sayin.

Another major factor to making the switch. With almost everything I do online being something Google related, the full integration with the service had become a much bigger draw of late.

And this is where Apple struggles a bit unless you are using Macs. Trying to use Apple's suite of services online is clunky at best.

Like many posting on this thread, I have both the 6S+ and the Note 5. I am pretty sure I'm going to keep both of them. Especially because I want to see what marshmallow does for battery life and fingerprint scanner integration on the Note.

My entire family uses apple products. From my wife and kids to my mom and sis. IOS is really an amazing platform when you have so many family members using it. Starting with iMessage and going to the App Store and purchase permissions, app sharing and everything else. When I leave to try android i always feel a little less connected to everyone.

From a hardware standpoint, there is no comparison. The Note 5 is so amazing. Just looking at the screen is mesmerizing. So much nicer than the 6plus. It's incredibly fast and the camera is great. I wish Apple would incorporate a triple home press to launch the camera.

So when I want to carry around a ferrari I swap into the note, when I am more the mood for old reliable (most of the time) I use my 6S+.

I agree with just about all of your comments and your reasoning is why I have always gone back to an iPhone. But, this time, I wanted to have a smartphone that I enjoy, regardless of what others are using. When I think along those lines, I usually end up with a Note. And I'm keeping it this time. The more I use my Note the less I feel that iMessage was a necessary feature.

I feel the same way until my wife sends me an MMS of one of kids doing something cute. Either I use the stock messaging app and it looks horrible or I download a video player and then it's a larger view but still horrible. I could probably get past most of that but, and I should have made more of a point of this, the battery life just doesn't compare the 6S+. Just having the phone on and connected to the network means it's discharging at 4-5% an hour. If I actually use the phone it's much worse. My 6S+ is just a monster. I just don't need to worry about battery.

The PKB and the S Pen have nothing in common, the HUB is a highly sophisticated notification central sytem it has nothing in common with any widget. I hear you Samsung has had a few years to refine the Note so it appears to be a better engineered wireless solution. The Priv has mimicked many features from other devices, BB refined many of those features iE: Priv Productivity Tab vs S6 Edge Screen!! Samsung Pay is efficient I used it often when I owned my Note 5 and S6,it's not a deal breaker for me. Samsung has way too many bugs the necessity of performing software updates was more than enough for me, Samsungs get bloated quite quickly. In retrospect I wouldn't say the Priv quite leaves everyone behind but it's more like a draw and for this to be BB's first attempt at Android and be on par with heavyweights like Samsung s[eaks volume about their expertise in offering wireless solutions.Don't cheat yourself, treat yourself....

Yes iphones will resell quicker, while holding their value slightly longer.Clever marketing not necessarily superior engineering.

The s-pen and physical keyboard on the Priv both are methods of inputting text and navigating the software; that makes them similar to me. As far as the two devices being a draw, how are you gauging that? Because that's not the case in popularity or sales.

Not a question of quicker. It's a question of resale value and brand equity. If I sold my Note 5 today I would get 65-70% resale value. My iPhone fetched almost 90% of its original value. Absolutely not reflective of a superior product though, I agree with that.

The PKB and S Pen have nothing in common....navigating the software....you can do that with Siri or just about any voice command service. Hell you can do that on BB10's voice command which is restricted to say the least.
If were going by popularity and sales why even have a thread comparing iPhone6 to Note 5 when Apple always crushed Samsung in wireless sales???
Apple crushes Samsung in sales the same reason Samsung is defeating the BB Priv in sales, marketing budget!!!!!
Practically every Apple commercial is the same,it has something to do with Siri's capabilities as if Siri is the only voice command function on the market. It's quite comical......
Give BB 2 years to earn revenue through Android development, translating to marketing revenue, and watch how rapidly they catch Samsung in terms of wireless sales.

I'm not following your position.
