Note 5 vs Note 4

Why note 5 is better:
Better battery life. (yes after 2 days I'm going there now)

fingerprint scanner works great(note 4 was usless)

Better photo quality

Much Faster camera. Opening and focus

Feels so much better in the hand

I've had zero lag

Take quick notes with the screen off

Improved spen

4gb ram

Raw image support and camera adjustments

Better sound, speaker on bottom instead of back

That's about all I can think of now

If you can do without SD card the note 5 is awesome! Otherwise note 4 is still very good. Don't think the non removable battery will really bother many because the battery life is really damn good..

Thanks for the battery update. Im glad the battery is great. I'm expecting my note 5 this Monday and super excited. I was a little disappointed the sd card is done but its not deal breaker for me.

I'm disappointed about no SD card and removable battery.. and the screen isn't any better. Also no 128gb model is disappointing.

Also the battery is less mah than that of the note 4.

But I'm such a die hard Note fan that I'll probably end up getting it... and that's because I like some things about it... I like the updated air command menu. I like the ability to take notes while the phone is "off".

I like the look of it.. even though it looks like an iPhone lol... I like that it will be running 5.1.1.

Im hoping it will run even faster and smoother than my Note 4.

I also think the camera has a few updates and upgrades over the Note 4.

I'll at least try it out. If I don't like it I can always go back to my N4.

I'm confused about the SD card. So if there is no SD card, your pictures are not saved so when u purchase a new phone they are gone forever correct?

Note 3

Save your pictures to a computer or to the cloud, like Dropbox, before you get your new phone. Also, when you buy your new phone the salesperson can transfer your pictures to your new phone from your old one.

Re: Note 4 vs Note 5

I will stick with the Note 4. Great camera, large "removable battery, swap fresh battery in one minute for a 100% full charge", expandable storage option, my 64 GB card is full of my high resolution movies and high resolution music, that I can access anytime anywhere without needing data.

You are my TWIN! :)

I have the exact same opinion. I have a 128 gb filled with flac files, movies, pictures, gym workouts, pics of the wife, motorcycle, x-girlfriends! :)

Plus, I ALWAYS carry a spare battery, I feel naked without one..

Not giving this up..Plus, I will be going to the 200gb or larger card as soon as they come down.. Sure, the Note 5, might be somewhat faster, but the 4 trumps the 5 with the removable battery and sd card.. Guess, I will spend that money on a BRZ... :)

I like the new note
While I am a little upset about the lack of a microsd card, since my laptop has an SD card slot and the base storage is now 32 GB, it isn't as big of a deal as it used to be and I'm sure other people can relate
I mean this is a phone, I never understood power users that needed like 128 GB phone plus 128 GB sd card, you could save so much money by getting an external hard drive and/or laptop
I gave up on the removable battery a while ago, all it did was make me have to pull the battery several times to get the phone to work
I also upgrade my phone a lot so I'm not going to spend an extra $50 on a battery that I can't even use that long

Also people, I understand people like extra batteries, but external battery packs are so much more helpful
They can charge way more, especially at the $50 price point (15000+ mAH) as compared to a 3000 mAH that can only be used on 1 specific kind of phone and it can charge more devices at once, and you can carry the pack in your bag

Note 4: productivity beast
+ Removable battery = I can go from zero to hundred in a matter of seconds
+ sd card all my pictures, movies and music with me all the time and in another device in the blink of an eye
+ MLH using my monitor TV as a bigger hands screen
+ IR blaster
+ gorgeous screen
+ more organized air command

Note 5: Inote 5
Same screen, so no 4k display
+ more ram
- no sd card
- no removable battery
- no IR blaster
- horrible air command menu
- fingerprint magnet and slippery beyond everything thanks to the pseudo premium glass
Lots of useless gimmicks like Samsung pay

Verdict
Less features in a much more expensive phone ...it basically an Inote, no thanks I rather stick with my Note 4. If I wanted form over function I'd buy an iPhone 5s

I have both the N4 and the N5. I can say for me, it is a nice upgrade from the N4. The S-Pen writes smoother and more precise. I was very concerned about the battery, but the battery lasts the same or about the same. It's not no where near what I thought is would be. since the difference is 220. The speaker is much better and a huge relief. I'm so glad they move it to the bottom instead of the back. It feels much more comfortable in the hand, but it is a little slippery and a fingerprint magnet. the headset jack was wisely move to the bottom. I don't really care about the removable battery, because I never replaced it due to fast charging. My N4 has a 32GB w/ an expandable 32 SD card. But I never came close to running out of memory because I started using cloud storage which is much better imo. And now I've noticed that the N5 recharges even faster than my N4. the fingerprint lock feature works top notch and is quick. No problems like the N4's swipe fingerprint feature. I don't even use the tv remote IR-blaster it's not needed. I already have a Logitech and other remotes. In addition, I look forward to using Samsung Pay coming Sept 28th in US. I know that everyone has different reasons and needs for removable batteries, but I think Samsung did a good job with the N5. I is a nice upgrade from the N4 to the N5.:D

This can't be done with the Note 5? If all of what you state is backed up in the "cloud" there is unlimited devices you can use to access that data.

MLH using my monitor TV as a bigger hands screen

Again this can't be done with the Note 5 because??? The MLH cable gets plugged into the micro usb port. Also, there are wireless alternatives that do the same thing.

+ gorgeous screen

I believe you forgot to say this regarding the Note 5 as well.

- horrible air command menu

What??? You state the air command is MORE organized on the Note 4. It's customizable on the Note 5

Here are a few feature you FORGOT to mention. I guess they are too small.

1. Processor on Note 5 is faster, stronger, more efficient. You can clearly tell this when running the devices.
2. Camera is better than what's on the N4. Unquestionably.
3. Scaled down TW. MUCH smoother than that on the Note 4
4. Finger scanner, ok thats not even a fair fight....

For added measure since you seem to think the Note 5 is an Inote. Your going to be amazed by this fact. The Note 5 actually runs Android OS Lollipop 5.1.1. The Iphone can only wish it were that lucky. And I'm sure the Note 4 will be getting it this week...er...I mean this year.

I'm not saying the Note 4 isn't a good device. It definitely is. I've enjoyed mine without question. However, let's not fool ourselves into thinking it's perfect because it's not. Samsung clearly made some refinements to the Note 5. Albeit, at the loss of an sd slot and removable battery. Still it does not make the N5 a bad device at all.

No it can't and won't ever be done with the cloud. I think the cloud is one of the worst things ever happening to the internet and also in Austria we don't want to be 24/7 connected . Personally I'm more off than online and I still want to watch my movies or listen to music while I am at the gym or somewhere else. I think a lot of people would be absolutely stunned by the fact in how much privacy and control they're really giving up when they trust other companies with such personal stuff.

I don't know if the Note 5 has MLH since it's from the same ground work as the s6 I doubt it. Yes the air command menu is more organized on the note 4 just look at the new one again there doesn't seem to be a hover effect. From what I understand the customization is limited to 3 apps.

I always put nova launcher on my device, root it and remove all the bloat plus use custom roms so I can't say much about TW but if it's anything like the s6 it's still too bloated colorful .

The Exynos may be fast but it's a nightmare in terms of custom ROMs and overclocking. Just look at xda and compare the amount of Roms for a snap Dragon to the exynos.

Is the note 4 perfect ? No, no phone is but it was a really nice foundation for a real successor instead Samsung opted to make a bigger S6 with an S Pen.

Saying it "can't" be done versus you not wanting to is two different things.
