Technically it is the writers opinion (or the consumers). There is no real 100% fact that one phone is "The best" since it depends on the needs / likes of the person. Everyone differs .. doesn't make them a fan boy simply because they do not agree with the popular opinion or your opinion .

It's a great phone and I think in the case of the usage scenario of AA's editors, it deserves the award.

Though I think the best phone is purely subjective since it's strictly based on user preferences and usage patterns.

To me, the best phone this year would be the LG G4, to me.

Agreed. I think the 6P is the best (and yes I've tried many many phones) but saying that.. That is for my needs. 3 of my friends have a Note 5 off my recommendation on what phone to get since I knew for them they would love that phone more than the 6P. So far.. I was right. They love it since it is a good phone.

I would not be mad at that pick at all. The V10 is my pick. It's like the G4 (a phone I already really like) on steroids.
