Re: Battery Life has been phenomenal with the new Replacement Note 7 's

No sync or widgets is gimped

I have to agree with this (for my uses). I want all syncs on and being updated as it happens -- along with widgets for other things. I am not going to gimp my phone but shutting those off.

Re: Battery Life has been phenomenal with the new Replacement Note 7 's

That's what drove me away from Android: the constant worry about battery life. It's not even consistent on the same device. One day battery can last fine, the next day some stupid app drains the battery in 5 hours down to zero. On iPhone battery life is 100% consistent every day. No worries!

There is some truth to this. It takes experience and a little know how to keep everything running efficiently. That's what I also like about iOS since it doesn't require that much effort. That's why I always recommend iOS to my less techy friends but recommend Android to my friends who like to tinker because there is great rewards ie more features and options.

Same here. I love tinkering with Android so that I get a result that is more my taste than everyone else's.

I never end up having battery issues on my devices anymore. It's all about what you want.

I use Zooper Widgets on my home screen. 4 of them to be exact. Love them because they are so customizable. I also sync 2 email addresses. Still great battery life.

I LOVE Zooper widgets.

Re: Battery Life has been phenomenal with the new Replacement Note 7 's

Yeah I see that too that's why I think there is some hardware variable where some are better than others. There could be many reasons for the variables but one thing I noticed from reading threads is that some people received replacements that were likely from the original batch but simply hadn't left Samsung facilities when the recall was issued so they were likely verified by Samsung to not have issues and simply shipped as safe while others received newly manufactured devices that have a v2 on the stickers on the box. I'm thinking maybe those of us who got the v2 devices got the better phones and those who didn't are the ones that may have been stuck with an inferior manufacturing process and as a result inferior batter life. Just a guess.

I wonder if there's a correlation with that, the V2 stickers. My N7 battery life was decent with my first one, and then with my replacement it was about the same (no noticeable difference).

But a couple days ago, I disabled some additional bloatware (typical Verizon things and a Samsung thing or two), and did a "slow charge" (fast charge turned off), and my battery life has improved, from my observation. I know bloatware doesn't have a very significant effect on battery life in recent years, so I'm not sure what may have led to my battery life being better.

Trying to figure out why all of the sudden this comes up. No battery stats? Today was best day of the 4 I've had it. Puzzling.

I"ve noticed the battery is better too. It doesn't drain as quick. Must have something to do with the new update they released.

Re: Note 7 battery life

Well I plugged my phone in before I went to bed and in the middle of the night I saw the green light on so unplugged it... When I woke up this morning my phone was at 96% from just sitting there. This normal? I had a email, Facebook, an weather notification.

Depends how much is updating over night. It doesn't sound like that bad of a drop to me.

After a week, battery life on my replacement is the same as my original. On both, right out of the box, battery life wasn't that great but improved over the course of a few days.

Im really beginning to miss having a swappable battery. This is my first phone with a permanently mounted battery and I really dislike it. On a normal day to day basis, it's ok. But on weekends or vacations when I'm out with the family, it's really a pain not being able to pull out a spare. Heck, I'd pay a premium for a thicker, plastic backed, non dust/water resistant Note series with a swappable battery. But sadly I know that day will never come.

My battery has now settled down and my battery life is the same as my original Note 7. I am pleased.

Well I don't really have an power saving settings on so I guess there is a lot going on even while the phone is just sitting there... If this seems normal then I guess it's no big deal I was just wondering, coming from an iPhone 6 which would charge to 100% an stay there for a while until I actually used the phone..

Re: Note 7 battery life

Something is definitely not right with the battery system and reading battery life.

I was at 82% at 8am after being off at 530am. Not a big deal. I plugged in for 10 min and was at 92%. But when I went to look at battery info it was was off and said that I had unplugged at 830. That's when I plugged in for 10 min. I wasn't fully charged at all. So all the stats reset? Then both screens say something different.

My Note 7 battery is not good as well. Although this is my first ever Samsung device, so I have nothing to compare it with except for an iphone. At most, I will get about 9 hours. Is that normal? I am reading through everyone else response saying that their replacements have excellent battery. Should I return mine?

I'm new to the android os. Is it beneficial to close all apps at times? How frequent?

Something strange with my replacement Note 7 battery

You can see here that there are zero battery stats listed for apps that normally appear here.

This is the SECOND day in a row my battery hit the 60% mark and these stats suddenly disappeared. I dont get it.

The other photo is of the box. Not even sure if this is a replacement device. Software did change the battery icon to green.

Confused. Anyone else have issues with battery stats disappearing?

Re: Note 7 battery life

My box has 1 black square upper right corner.

SMN930VZKB is also on the box.

There is no writing or stamp on box saying it's a replacement.

This is my first experience with a Samsung phone. When you said battery life improved over the course of a few days, how many days? I'm experiencing not so good battery life myself. This is my 3rd day with it so wondering if it will get better, and if so, how much longer?

Deciding whether or not to exchange it for another one since I have 2 weeks to return.

Anyone know if this means it's a replacement? Any other VZW users have the same type of Box? Just the black square in upper right-hand corner?
