Note 8 LED no longer working with email notifications (Gmail/Outlook)

I noticed about 2 days ago that when I get an email, my LED notification no longer works and blinks on my note 8. I did get an update on my phone about 4 days ago and I am not sure if that has anything to do with it. I went to the battery settings to see if it was turned off to save the battery but it is not. Has anyone experienced this? Any solutions or ideas of things I can check? I am newer to Android so have never experienced this.
