Note 8 or V30

I currently have a Note 8 but am considering a V30.. I had the V10 and loved it, had the G6 and loved that but I'm feeling like the Note 8 is to fragile and might break and the V30 seems more durable. I want your opinions

After 4 days with the v30, it stands as my favorite phone so far. I've had 12 different smartphones beginning with the original Motorola droid. These included the Samsung galaxy note 2, note 4, s6, S7 edge, lg v10. And more. I love my Samsung phones, but the s6 edge didn't have the battery life, whereas the s7 edge has it all except for great media. The v10 was great for media, but had poor battery life, poor screen, and was just way to bulky to carry around. But now, the v30 seems to correct all the shortcomings. The 32bit ess Sabre dac is just mind blowing, the new poled screen just ad bright, and vivid as my Samsung S7 edge, it's a 6" screen but no bigger in the hand than the s7 edge, incredibly light and very easy to control. It also hasn't got much bloat on it. LG really listened to customers and nailed it. So getting back to your question on whether you should go with the note 8,or v30? I'd ask myself, am I a business person that needs all that extra stuff like the spen, or am I a media lover, and camera buff. Right. Forget to mention that incredible camera and video from the V30 too. My choice was clear. V30 all the way. I guess the only thing missing that I personally would have liked, would have been Dolby Atmos for watching Dolby encoded movies(not for music) . My ZTE axon7 hast it and it really is fantastic. Thanks.

I've been burned twice by LG and hardware issues.

Never again.

I'm not as worried because there is a 2 year warranty on the V30.

I understand your pain as my brother got burned on the G4. His family had 3 of them. The 1st 2 bootlloped before the 1 year warranty was up, so they got replaced. The 3rd one after 1 year, and LG wouldn't replace. It was very shortsighted of them, because they lost him as a customer. He was a real fan of LG phones, but is still ticked off at them. I know he would be all over the V30 otherwise.

Why would you even consider returning a Note 8 for the V30? The Note 8 has more RAM, bigger pixels in the camera, better front facing camera, Samsung Pay, S Pen, better UI, better screen...that's like asking if you should trade in your Lamborghini for a Ford Pinto.

The v30 is a media lovers dream. The camera is much better especially in low light. The movies it'll take will outdo the note 8 any day of the week. And that ESS Sabre quad dac did it for me. Now, I've also got a device that is much more consumer friendly to hold and carry. NOW, before you think I'm trashing the note 8,im not at all. I'm just telling you why I chose the v30. If you're a business person, then by all means the note 8 is for you. I had the original note 2,and the note 4. Both were top of the line devices. But in the real world, I never used the s pen, or most of the other things it offered. Now if you've read or listened to the v30 reviews, you would not have made the Lamborghini to pinto comparison. That was just plain stupidity.

Any proof it will out do the note?

These phones have almost as many differences as similarities. For me the note wasn't even a consideration. I had the s8+ and it was already too tall, I don't like the curves and bixby and it's button, fps location is a joke and also general quality of Samsung fingerprint scanners is the worst, I had to hold the s8 just right to get it to work consistently. I like my phones 1 solid piece, no removable s pen to worry about getting lost. I need the wide angle camera. The oled display on the v30 is fantastic. Not as good but good enough to not be a factor anymore imo. The Samsung panels aren't so much better to overlook all the problems with the hardware and the terrible ui that, for example, doesn't even give you the option for a black nav bar any more. Seriously they're as controlling as Apple. LG V30 with it's more practical hardware design, wide angle camera, quad dac, better ui, better fps in both location and function, is just easily the winner to me.

The V30 has slower performance over the Note 8 already tested. Also, it doesn't have near the features Samsung does. Like Bixby, Spen, Samsung Pay, Live Photo, not as good of a screen, and so on. It doesn't even come with headphones in the US wireless provider versions. LOL.

The Note also costs $150 more. You should get SOMETHING for that.

Is it really better than the note 8 in low light? I would think note 8 is, but I haven't researched a comparison.
