Yes, Android 8 is superior to Android 7... Mostly several minor performance improvements, which added up make 8 possibly meaningful.

Is there anything in Android 8 that you are losing your mind over because you are stuck on Android 7?

Picture in picture mode? Personally, I'm either watching something full screen on a phone, or I'm not.

Improved autofill framework? I don't save credit cards through Google. This improvement is Google making it easier and more appealing to convince you to store more banking and personal data about you.

Oreo can better learn your sharing habits? Again, it's a small convenience, it is smart, but it is more data stored about you.

Per app disc space quota for cached data, WiFi aware, default max aspect ratio gone, and multi display support round out the headlines.... There is some other stuff.

Google android 8 VS 7. A great article by a competitors to Android Central will be found on this topic.

Seriously folks... I'll take what is easily the best Android phone... The Samsung Note 8....& a wait for Oreo over the dumpster fire of physical hardware issues that is the Pixel 2 or any other Android phone which has Oreo. .

Most importantly, none of my apps care if the OS is 7 or 8 in any material, significant way....

At least we're getting security updates in a decent timeframe. In all seriousness the Note 8 is still a solid device with 7.1.1 compared to the Pixel with 8.1. Your average person wouldn't notice any difference in the OS itself when comparing the two.

I'm running a leaked Samsung Note 8 Official Android Oreo 8.0 OS. It was sent Ota to a guy who leaked it. It runs smooth but the Samsung Gear Manager is not compatible with my GS2 or S watches 😞. Also Samsung Health is not compatible. Lastly the App Icon Badges doesn't work. I miss my notifications badges.

Other than those I mentioned above it runs smooth. The pink is below if you wanna check it out.

I installed the update and my notification badges work fine. I don't have a gear watch, but I do have the LG Sport and it works well with this update. I am happy I didn't wait until the official ATT update (which will take forever).

I finally got my notification badges and Gear S2 to work thanks to a friend on Google +. I only had to change a setting. I'm happy as well with 8.0.

It's not out yet officially. I'm running the leaked beta now, and it's great. I am guessing later this month it should be officially released

I too formerly salivated over new operating systems, then, the Zen kicked in and I realized, Grasshopper, that I've never had a phone improved by a new OS.

honestly, I'm a noob. I just switched over from apple and am looking forward to the update to emojis in Oreo more than anything. And the gif toolbar in the keyboard.
