Note 8: What are your dream specs?

I miss my Note 7 so much. I now have the S8+ and I love it but I do want the Note to be just a tad wider. The S8+ battery has gone past my expectations and I am happy with the phone but I want a Note 8 and will more than likely go for it. I have a jump left on my account but I do have a 7 Edge that I just might swap to my main line and jump it and keep the S8+. I also will have to get more info on the Note8 before I make a final decision but I have been waiting for this since they took my Note 7 back...twice....

I loved the Note 7 and love my S8+. The two things I must have are a good battery and good camera so my dream would be a battery that lasts 2 days with medium use or a full day of heavy use, so something like a 3700mah and 8-10 hours of SOT. Camera, 12mp or higher with portrait mode similar to iPhone 7 Plus and quality better than the S8+. My other dream scenarios are a higher IP rating, maybe something like the Apple Watch Series 2's 50m of resistance and "swimproof", 128gb internal storage option with SD support and adoptable storage out of the box, smarter S Pen, and an updated screen. Wouldn't hate to see it ship with Android O, though that is unlikely, and want Sammy to keep up what they've been doing with their software. Also, for good measure, release a new watch with more current specs running a newer and better version of Tizen. I like the S3, but it could be so much better. Oh, and keep all of the stuff that made the S8 great like the infinity display. If they can't figure out the embedded fingerprint scanner in the screen then put it on the back in the middle like the Pixel.

They're only gone because people have been lured into believing that they must have, at all costs, a water-resistant or water-proof phone. I can't count the number of phones that i've owned, and i've never dropped one, whether it was in water or on the ground. The phone manufacturers say that water-proof means a sealed case, therefore no replaceable battery. Once again, the general public has been snookered into buying this garbage. How about this, for a change....Don't buy the phone, and tell them why.:p
Yep dead on. I work as an engineer for a major carrier that will remain unnamed, and if i had to put down the $$ I wouldn't do it unless the handset had two major features. 1) Removable battery... Why you ask? because the handset turns into a tethered paper weight within a year of normal usage. i could easily make a top of the line handset last 4 years if i could simply replace the battery. 2) removable sd storage. again, i would prefer keeping my info out of the "cloud" when it contains so much vital personal info. But millinials dont seem to concern themselves with any amount of privacy concerns at any level so this is what the market reflects.

My house has never burned down in the ten years that I've owned it, yet I've spent a ton of money on fire insurance. My car hasn't been in an accident either for the last 6 years, but I've also been paying a lot of money for full coverage insurance. If my house burns down, I'll be glad I spent money on insurance. Likewise, if my car gets into an accident, I'll be glad I have insurance. I don't understand your argument. Just because you haven't dropped your phone in water in the past doesn't mean you'll never drop it in water in the future. If/when you do drop your phone in water, you'll be really glad you have water resistance. I'll never purchase another phone that doesn't offer basic water resistance.

You're talking about insurance. So, shouldn't you be able to shop for it? This is one of the reasons that water resistant phones are so expensive.

I posted this in another thread but this would be my custom phone if I had the money to design my own personal phone.

If you were a billionaire or had multi millions, would you design your own smartphone for personal use?

I would. It would be like the Note 4 on steroids. 6.3 inch infinity style screen with not a lot of bezel, FLAT, it would be flat like the previous Notes.

It would have IR blaster, removable battery, IP68, Micro SD slot, wireless charging, and dual camera and 8gb Ram.

I would also have my own cases designed for my phone too.

And if you had that much money, you wouldnt waste it on building a couple phones.
You would have to make a profit off it.
And you would have to sell enough phones for companies to develop the software and security updates.
There is a lot m ore tha n meets thge eyes.

The phone with the specs I listed would probably be $1400 lol! Forgot to add a 4k screen to it as well. I'm sure many of you on here would buy that super phone.

Wouldn't mind having the double tap option to wake up screen like the LG V20 has

Ok we already know the specs so this is just a dream but I'd like:

256GB internal storage available in the U.K.
4K 6.5 inch screen
Tri lens camera (even possible?) with 4 x optical zoom and wide angle lens
IR blaster
10 hours SOT

Flatter display

Wider portrait

RGB pentile (no screen door for VR then)

Stereo speakers

3.5 jack

SD slot

At least 128gb internal storage

FM radio

4GB storage, but 6GB maybe.

IR blaster
