Question note 8 yellow charging icon comes on why?

the yellow charging icon came on. i changed theadapter out. it's fully charged now but i don't think that was the problem. could dirt inside the phone cause it?biut i didn't clean the port either. am not using original chager but having been using compatible one for years. if this is a duplicate thread please remove. i thought i had posted earlier but dont' see it.

Did you see it while charging only? Was it warning you of a low charging rate?

If the charging plug or cable is faulty, that could potentially lead to lower charging rates. Try a different plug and/or cable and see if the problem persists.

It did not come on while I was charging it. I was holding the phone andi just remember seeing the icon. i charged it backnup in the same outlet and it's fully charged. i don't think the fast charging has worked in a while.

if it came on when it wasn't plugged in what does that mean? Nothng? a glitch?

Oh ok. That may indicate moisture or debris in the port, or a damaged port. Has the phone been exposed to moisture recently?

Use a can of compressed air to blow out the port, and a dry toothbrush to scrub it out. If it persists and you do start to see issues with charging or data transfer via the port, you may need to take it to a repair shop.

when you say debris i guess you mean dirt? I'll try compressed air. no moisture exposure that i'm aware of

Right -- dirt, lint, or similar.

Moisture can be sneaky. For example, if you habitually leave the phone in the bathroom while taking a nice hot shower, the evaporated water might condense on the USB port contacts.
