Android Central Question

Full screen optimized app are oversized and can't fit into the screen even with the screen display set to WQHD+. Moreover my Navigation bar is not showing when the Navigation Buttons option is selected. Swiping the screen from bottom up doesn't bring up the navigation bar. The gesture hints also doesn't show at the bottom of the screen. Even some of Samsung setting screens do not fit within the screen. This brings me to the conclusion that there must be some display setting that has gone wrong.

Any idea to resolve above is much appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks guy for all the help.

I solved the problem. I fiddled with the Developer Option/"Simulate display with cutout" by changing it from Default to Tall cutout, and "BOOM" the button gesture hint appeared and then select the Navigation buttons. I have reset it back to Default. But the problem is the alignment is to the right instead of left. How do I change the alignment to left.

Update : Alignment solved. When I fiddled with the "Simulate display with cutout" somehow it set the "Force RTL layout direction" to on. Turning it off and everything back to normal.

The alignment to the right is caused by this option. Switch it off.

Glad you managed to figure it out and thanks for the follow up. It'll be very helpful for other users with a similar issue.

You had mess with developer option before this started?

Yes I played around with Developer Option. I may have touched the "Simulate display with cutout". Strange the setting was at default when the Navigation buttons disappeared. I did set reset to default and also turn of Developer Option earlier but it didn't resolve the issue. Was thinking of doing a factory reset tonight if no other solution. By chance, came across the Simulate display with cutout today. My thought was ya why not cut the top and not the bottom and toggle form Default to Tall cutout and it works. Strange, the problem wasn't the Default setting as I reset the cutout to default and everything still works.

Hmmm..I don't remember it being that number,
But at least you got it going

Read somewhere that said Note 9 DPI setting should be 350 to 450. Thinking the bigger the dpi the smaller the display to fit phone screen, I went for the 450 dpi setting and was totally shocked to see the screen flickering in pink.

So for those who wants to fiddle with the DPI, don't go beyond 450 dp.

Once again, thanks everyone for contributing.
