For months, I've not had a single problem with my 9. At my part time job, I use a public WIFI. No biggie.. a few weeks ago, I started getting an error message that kept me from logging in. I connect to the WIFI, I get directed to the sign in screen to enter the password, then everything is fine. But recently, I get an error message that stops and I can't get in. Message says something about unsafe Port. See attached image..
I've rebooted, cleared the Cache, checked for updates, cleared all my connections and restarted, initiated a sacrifice, deleted the network, done everything except for rebooting the router. (waiting on a day when I can catch the boss in the office. ) Everyone else is having no problem. Apple and Androids work fine... except for mine.. Any ideas??

Hello , where this happening Samsung internet?

Usually chrome. I switched and tried Samsung, made it to the same spot before it died. Edge also

I select the such and such guest wifi. Same as I have for months. The selection Chimes. A pop-up appears that says I need to enter password. I click pop-up. (same procedure for the past month). After I click it I get the error message. I exit. I reboot, I select Samsung internet as default, select such and such guest wifi. Click and pop-up appears that says I need to enter password. I click pop-up, I get same exact error message. I exit, I reboot, I change default app to edge. I click such and such guest wifi. I get pop up message saying I need to enter password. I click pop-up. I get same warning message again.

Rinse and Repeat all procedures with static and dynamic dhcp.

In the past, using Chrome. I come in, select such and such guest wifi. I get a screen from the router that says enter password, I enter password and use it the rest of the day. No problem.

But I'm the only one having problems apple and Android.

I want to try to reboot the router but not until the boss is there. What I'm wondering if if the security patch could have affected this or is there a setting that has gotten screwed up or even if someone else is having the same issue

It works Perfect at home. Haven't tried other public sights yet.

Ok. I'm thinking it's a network issue. I'm at another place and going through the same procedure anger it logged in on the first shot.

That was done way back in step #1. Settings > connections > more connection settings > reset network settings. Didn't have any affect.

Only at work. I tried it at another location with the same process. Make the connection, get redirected to the sign in page and the page appears. At work I get an unsafe port error.

Then something changed with work Wi-Fi

I get this kind of thing from time to time at places with public wi-fi -- most often my local Safeway grocery store. Not sure what causes it. I'm also not sure if i affects everyone's devices or just mine.

Owners husband finally came in... she'd been telling him that there was no problem with the connection.. He comes in, switches to the public wifi and CRASH... Same error message that I'd been putting up with for a month.. She had apple... He had android just like me.. finally figured out that in one of the recent Security updates that came out, android decided that that port was no longer considered secure and hence, locked out on Android. He's digging to find out how to change the port setting on the router. In the mean time, I finally got the password for the main system.. Don't ask.. I got no idea.... LOL.. Thanks guy...
