Note Edge Redraws Since Lollipop Update

Okay so a little while back I updated my Samsung Note Edge to Lollipop. The update came in late because I'm with Rogers. Ever since that update my phone has been having very frequent redraws. I'll be in the middle of an app and then the screen would go blank with just the wallpaper showing. This lasts for a good 3-10 seconds and then finally returns me to the home screen. Sure, if this just happens a couple times a week it's no big deal. But no, this crap happens at least every hour, if not more. Here's some additional information that might help:

Current Android Version: 5.1.1
Carrier: Rogers
Model Number: SM-N915W8
Purchased In: Canada
Locked Device (Rogers)
Not Rooted (Obviously)

Here are some things I've tried to fix this problem:
-Restart phone
-Uninstall suspecting apps
-Close apps frequently
-Wipe caches
-Use Nova launcher (with aggressive desktop)
-Remove SD card
-Factory reset

So far none of these potential solutions have helped. However, the factory reset did lessen the amount of drawbacks a bit.

Please help me! I just want a phone that works properly. Especially for the amount I paid for this fricken thing!

Mine used to do a similar thing where it would show the wallpaper, and then lock itself. This was a problem with the fingerprint scanner and once I disabled it and used a pattern for my password, the phone stopped doing it.

If any of you guys are using the fingerprint scanner, that could be your problem.

This is precisely what's happening with mine. I'll try disabling the fingerprint scanner for a couple days then post an update on the issue.

I've noticed that while using the fingerprint lockscreen on Sprint, that it'll lock itself and the whole phone goes schizo.. It's kinda irksome, because I like how much more accurate the fingerprint reader is.. I turned that off and went to the pattern lock and I have no issues.. Hopefully Marshmallow will fix this, or else I'll be keeping a very keen eye on the LG G5!

Mine is doing the same thing, until I switched the fingerprint scanner off. This annoys me because I liked the safety of the scanner. Did you ever try switching yours back on again?

I had the same problem. After moving out of Touchwiz to Nova (then power off and pull battery out for few mins) it happens rarely, like once in 2 weeks. I didn't disable my finger scanner.
