Note9 or iPhone Xs Max?

Still looking. I may make an impulsive decision one day (what I usually do) or I may stall for a sale that inspires me. Could even wait until Black Friday. I will also have to check out the newest iPhone. I like the medium size but not the LCD.

Yeah definitely should be deal's black Friday...

Yeah, as always such decision is a personal one anyway. I've said it before, one can't go wrong with either phone. My Note 9 and Galaxy Watch LTE checks all my boxes.

I actually prefer Android Wear. It's a shame there are so few new exciting Android Wear watches to choose from. I've had Samsung watches and I found the Android Wear gives me notifications from every app I might want them from and in more detail than my Samsung watch. I wish Samsung still made a Wear watch as well as Tizen. No smartwatch compares favorably to the Apple Watch 4. I wouldn't even consider an iPhone if it weren't for their watch.

I'm not a watch person, but heard good things on Apple 4 watch. I still have the first Samsung gear watch that had a camera on the wrist band lol got it as a gift but never used it .

I loved that watch. I had the gear then the gear 2. It had camera and ir blaster! If I bought another Samsung phone I would try it but it required apps from Samsung app. store and I doubt any remain for gear 2.

I didn't even know gear 2 had a ir blaster that must of been sweet...

Since my Note 3 had its own ir blaster I never used the one on the watch. It wasn't programmable at all. You chose a tv brand and it only controlled volume, channel up & down, on & off. No buttons for tv menu nor arrows to scroll through screens. Mind you it could have been great had anyone bothered to write better software for it. Still if it Samsung Store apps still. exist and support the og gear 2 I would use it with Note9. Any ir capability is better than none. If Huawei watches were sold and warranteed in USA I would buy a Mate 20 pro with ir blaster and led notifications. It has the features I care most about.

I think different phones suit different people. For me I would opt for the note for the following reasons -

iPhone is hideous, the design of it is utterly horrible and I wouldn't buy that.

iOS is dated and rigid. It isn't as reliable as it once was and it lacks the flexibility of android.

Better stock apps - Samsung email is brilliant, native group email management, peak time for sync. iOS can't touch those features.

The screen, Samsung screens are epic and I would opt for that.

I can't comment on the spen as the note is a future purchase for me.

Honestly if it wasn't for the iPhone's current design I probably would have continued buying iPhones and would have missed out on buying the note 9 which so far has kept me happy

Can someone please tell me why the apple watch is so highly regarded? Battery life sucks and toy have no real keyboard to respond back via text. You can only scribble or text with voice. Both of which aren't convenient or as private as typing.

people like the synchronicity of the apple watch with the iPhone... from my experience I got more functionality out of other smart watches, which is why I like android... it just works. I dont need to spend 500 on a smart watch to do the same thing another does because of a label. just like the max vs the note... it's all about labels. if you want to pay more for a device that does less than have at it. I personally had the max and was underwhelmed by it. there are some things I miss about not having iOS but oh well so is life

Now, coming from a Note8 I can tell the camera improvements are significant. No issues with blurry pictures. And the battery life is so awesome.

I agree. My N8 took a lot of blurry photos compared to the N9 and I get 8-9 hrs SOT .

TBH I would never try and tap-type on a watch anyway lol. Also my battery life definitely doesn't suck on my Series 4 so it would really depend which Watch you are comparing to. IF you mean the latest Series 4 then I question if you have really used one.

Seeing that the only device I have is an iPad I'd have no use for an apple watch. Just keep hearing people say how much they like it more than other watches. Also talking about the LTE model since I only do cellular watches.

So you made a claim about the battery life on it without ever even trying it yourself? That is worse then being mad at people liking it since you are hating on something you have never even given a chance.

Also I am talking about LTE model as well but I do have an iPhone so it tags with that when around. Most people don't get a watch strictly for stand-alone use -- more so tagged with their phone and having LTE for when the phone isn't around.

I work with people who have apple watches and it definitely lasts the entire day. The battery life isn't an issue for them.

Lol hating? No not at all. Seriously wanted to know the magic of an "apple watch". I can comment off battery life because it is clearly stated in the specs. 18 hours is a joke and you can't tell me otherwise. Any other smartwatch that promised that little time would face major scrutiny. That's the last I will say about the matter.

Yea but being a watch I don't want to charge it daily. Would like at least 3 days in between charges.

There is no magic. It just works and is a really good watch. I don't get why that is hard to understand?

The only watch on Android that doesn't just suck horribly is a Samsung one. That only works as well as it can if you have a Samsung phone. If you don't then there are no good Android Wear watches.

Same with Apple. You need an iPhone to use their Watch. When put together it is one of the best combos for a watch/phone just like on Android the Samsung Watch/Phone is the best combo.

There is no magic at all. People rave about it because it works. Trust me if it didn't you would see some "gate" or something like that bashing the ever-living out of Apple but you don't. Why? Simple .. it doesn't suck.

Most LTE watches aren't gonna last 3 days. I have a ZTE watch on LTE that I charge everyday. I also with with people that have Samsung watches that they charge daily.
