Note9 or iPhone Xs Max?

Yea but being a watch I don't want to charge it daily. Would like at least 3 days in between charges.

And that is your preference but just because you don't want that doesn't mean the Apple Watch is instantly bad for everyone else. I personally see no reason not to charge it as I can't stand wearing anything to bed (I move around way too much). So for you -- you go with yours. Why is it such blasphemy for others to go with something else?

Most LTE watches aren't gonna last 3 days. I have a ZTE watch on LTE that I charge everyday. I also with with people that have Samsung watches that they charge daily.
Almost 2 years with my gear s3 and consistently at least 3 days. 4 to 5 more on lighter use days without power saver.Screenshot_20181028-233724_Gear%20S%20Plugin.jpeg

The reason I ended the conversation and want discuss the matter is because you took my question out of context. I asked for insight on a product you answered. Never said anything was wrong for someone else's choice. Next time I have a question I'll ask and the forum in which the subject matter pretains to.

I took it out of context? I simply asked have you used it. You said no. So you made claims on nothing but random things from the internet. Bad way to see things for yourself.

I get loving what you love but blindly hating something without ever using it is almost worse to me then anything else. I have no issues with either platform (obviously) and I have recommended friends to get the Galaxy Watch since they want to stay Android (and TBH more so the Note line). I am not going to be all "Ugh that watch sucks" just because I happen to like the Apple Watch better. What good would that do?

Ok conversation over. I have nothing to prove. You be good.

The Apple watch is the only reason that I still keep an iPhone activated today. In my opinion there is no other watch that can compare to what the Apple watch does.

As far as the battery life is concerned, when I activate the LTE service and leave the iPhone at home, yes the battery consumption is massive and it won't even last a full day that way. I bought two Apple watches to get around the battery issues in normal usage. When one needs charged, I simply put on the other one and the watch app takes care of switching to the new watch automatically and all the fitness stats on the previous watch sync to the new watch within a few minutes. I wish I could get the features including the ability to use multiple watches on Samsung as I get with my Apple watches.

Even the LTE service can be swapped between watches within seconds.

Well yeah of course there is nothing to prove. You made a claim and then admitted you can't back it up since you haven't used said product yet want to bash others because they don't share your opinion. Makes sense.

Oh wow that's interesting so do you pay for two wearable plans since the esim has to be individually registered on it's own plan?

No. You just need one plan. The plan sticks to one watch even if you switch watches but it is easy to switch the plan to the other watch. You just put on that watch, go into the watch app and under cellular, tap on activate plan. Hit yes on switching the current plan to this watch and it is activated within seconds. Switch watches and you can do it again as many times as you want. Takes less then a minute to do.

That is indeed easy and inline with what I have seen from others that own the LTE version of Apple Watch 4. I could only wish activating my Samsung Galaxy Watch was so easy, even with a Note 9. I have also noticed that the Apple Watch gets full LTE bandwidth, while my Samsung Galaxy Watch is limited to 512kbps. Both on tmobile with same plan and cost. That's not a show stopper for me since I don't consume huge bandwidth on the watch anyway but it is bad in principle since an Apple watch LTE owner and Samsung Watch LTE owner are paying the same price for plan. I think the Samsung watch is also capable of full LTE bandwidth, so is limited by the carrier where Apple watch is not limited. Yet another plus for Apple watch.

I really hate that the gear s3 was the last true stand alone watch. A lot of people may think it's not a big deal but when you have two different phone carriers(in my case Verizon and t-mobile) it matters a lot. I love not being restricted by a certain carrier but that all changed with the introduction of the galaxy watch.

I work with people who have apple watches and it definitely lasts the entire day. The battery life isn't an issue for them.

I have a Gear S2, S3 and Apple Watch Series 2. It's not close, the Apple Watch has a much better battery life. It is wifi only, as are the Android watches, so perhaps that's the major difference.

Clicked on a Note 9 vs. iPhone Xs Max and somehow was taken to an Apple Watch thread. Strange...

Not so strange because the Apple watch often goes hand in hand with the iPhone just as the Galaxy watch often goes with the Note 9.

Love the logic.

Lets go to an Android site, specifically enter the Note 9 thread, and ask if I should buy a Apple device instead.

WTF did you think was going to happen?????

These threads should be shut down.
People really need to use some common sense.

Pretty odd to make a choice based on what is in stock locally. I went from an S8+ to the Max. Considered the Note 9 but just felt like it was too much like I had and I had upgrade fever. One thing that i got used to real fast....Face ID. Got really sick of the finger scanner on back thing. I'll probably flip back to the Note/Galaxy series next year. Not into the ecosystem thing at all. There are alot of jealous iphoners out there though because they are into the ecosystem and the price of the new phones crossed the line for many of them.

Apple Watch is part of the equation pf buying an iPhone for some ;). Just like some are talking Galaxy Watches for the Note 9 -- it is in relation to the topic.

Sorry they won't be shut down. Just because we are an Android forum doesn't mean we can't talk about other platforms. Especially if one is deciding between two major phones for the platforms and trying to find the right product for them. We have many people who use multiple operating systems and can chime in.

Thanks for the feedback on "common sense" though!
