I can't find any place to make note or memos on my phone. Any ideas? Is this an app I will need to purchase?

Thanks for any help

ColorNote is free as well, I don't think there are any apps pre-loaded for notes which I think is pretty ridiculous.

I downloaded the AK Notepad from the Market. It's free and works well enough for me. Similar to the iOS notepad app, though toggling between different memos is a bit more awkward in AK.

Yeah it's pretty lame that a task/ note manager app is not included by default.

I think Palm was the only OS to have this no?

if you use voice actions and say "note to self" and then the message it will email you a recorded version of that message. I just use that for reminder type notes. I guess if you want something more than just reminders or grocery lists or something then some of the market apps are more your speed.

I like Evernote personally. It allows separate notebooks, and will sync with any other device or computer running Evernote. Also allows attachments.

I use SpringPad. It's free, and it's awesome.

another +1 for springpad. I use springpad to keep track of my personal computer repair jobs as it also syncs notes to the cloud. You need to create a user name and password to use it but you can access them anywhere you have a computer with an internet connection, in case you dont have the phone on you or dont wanna sit and type out a novel on your phone.

Oh, and its free.

I used it like crazy on my BlackBerry and was surprised it did not have one on the phone. I wanted something very simple and found MemoPad in the market that was free, simple, and easy to use.

+1 for color note. It does the notepad, acts like ios's AND let's you do a checklist too. Free.

Catch Notes is the way to go. They almost screwed it up a month ago when they added a new, unwanted feature and made a beloved feature hard to get to, but they listened to the public uproar and fixed things.

+1 for Evernote because it sync's online so if you change ROMs often no need to back up and I can access them from my Tab and PC. You can also add spreadsheets and word docs to notes if needed.

Love Evernote. Keeps all my notes in the cloud and I can access them from my PC, tablet or phone.

Evernote is the best out there especially if u have a Nexus device. Cloud sync is invaluable.

I am just not a big fan of evernote.
I don't know what it is, but I just can't grasp the whole process. At times it's great to have the info there, others it's a PITA to just pull up a quick to do list.

+1. Been rocking Evernote for a few hears now, and it works like a charm. Added bonus: email notes to yourself. Comes in handy if you want to keep your receipts that you get emailed to you in one place.

Yeah I email notes to myself for Evernote. If you just take 10 min to learn how to use it, you won't know how you got through life w/ out it. I ended up scanning hundreds of pages of documents that I had been keeping for work and projects, as well as certifications, and taxes, and just all kinds of stuff. Scanned them all into evernote very easily w/ tons of organizations. And with the widget on your phone or tablet it's easy to add, edit, and create new notes. Plus sharing notes is golden. say you want to try to plan a trip somewhere w/ friends or throw an organized party? Evernote is king for that. Giving people permission to add their pics, and 2 cents to your notes is great.
